crying.gif BAD news guys. They told him that he needs to get a report/form/history from US Immigration which shows he's never been to the US. WHAT THE F*&$!?!?!?! Then he's suppost to DHL mail it back to them and wait to hear something! this is CRAP!!! i've never heard or read about such a document or we would have ALREADY been prepared with it! also, they fingerprinted him, costing $85, which we weren't expecting. mad.gif

aside from being very mad, i'm really SAD! i am starting a new, ridiculously hard job tomorrow where i'll be working 80 hours a week. and we are going to have such little time to communicate. sad.gif i need him with me now more than ever.

wish it would have went differently! and hope it gets resolved quickly.

I hope this gets sorted out quickly for you.

I'm so sorry! The consulates can and will do this, especially if they want to delay the visa. People will tell you stories about ridiculous delays in approval. Two different Immigration attorneys have told me that if a consulate cannot find a reason to decline the visa which it doesn't want to issue, it will make sure the petitioner and beneficiary wait a good long time (sometimes years) before receiving it. I don't know if that's the situation with you two or with the embassy. Regardless, you have every right to be upset. I'm really sorry about this turn of events!

It'll be a few more months, so get started. Get assistance from family and friends - you'll be surprised how eager F&F are to help with footwork, research, and errands. Good luck! Hang in there !!

Look on the bright side. As he was not denied, but only required to supply additional document b/4 visa is issued. Provided he has no bad history with US immigration then it just a matter of time before the visa is issued. Also, maybe there was a hit on his name during background check and the embassy just wants a verification / confirmation from USCIS. One question that I have for you is: Is his name a common name in Ecuador? Perhaps someone with the same name has a history with USCIS. Keep the faith and things will fall into place. I'll keep you in my prayer.

The $85 and 10 fingerprints is definitely a "false name hit". This is common for Latino males. I guess fewer last names and they have 2. I don't think they need an exact hit to start the security clearance.

I suggest you call the State Dept visa specialist later this week -- don't know how quickly their system is updated. Find out what form you can provide. Don't know what they are talking about.

Meanwhile, have patient. I know it is hard. You have time to focus on your new job.

fyi --- my Latino man's name has been pending security clearance for about 2 months. Our K-1 interview was 11 weeks ago. The specialist said they started clearance at end of April.
