What can I say, I am truly happy now. My Cuban fiance arrived to the US on the 20th of June. It has been quite a journey for both of us but now we are so happy that we are finally together. We both give great praise to God for everything working out so well. He and I met in Cancun and flew to JFK airport together so that he could receive his temporary EAD. The border agent was very nice and after the agent went through the vanilla packet he sent us to a second room for my fiance to receive his work permit stamp and we thought further questioning. It was only two other people there and my fiance was called up immediately. We thought that he was going to be asked many questions and that we would be there for a long time but the agent just handed him his passport back with the I-94 stamped and said "Welcome to America" and we went on our merry way overjoyed that it was so simple.
We can only thank God for everything going so smoothly.
Well we are settling in here together and are going to enjoy these precious moments that we have waited so long for.
Thanks for all of your well wishes and Best wishes to all who are still on the journey to unite with you loved one(s).

Congratulations!

I had a question for you, since now you are an expert smile.gif

Did you get to wait in line with your fiancee or did you have to go on separate lines? My fiancee doesnt speak English but I speak Spanish and I don't want him to get confused with the immigration people.

Plus he's going to want work authorization and I think I need to help him explain that.

My husband came through the "Americans" line with me (he also didn't speak English when he came). The IO made a smart comment about how the line was for Americans/residents, but then I explained that my husband was emigrating to the U.S. and there was no problem - he was nice after that.
