I just wanted to pass out this information..

basically, my I129 approval is valid until 8/19/07 and our visa call is on 8/23/07.
I emailed mumbai embassy and asked them if the consulate can extend the validity of my approval OR if this will become any issue? I got a reply after 2 days saying that "This will not be an issue. Do not worry too much"

has anyone faced this situation or a different respone from any embassy in India?
I told my wife to print out this email and she will take it to the interview just incase those people
make a fuss abt anything

I emailed Delhi embassy and have not received any response yet.

It is my understanding that the consular officer at the embassy is authorized to extend the validity of the approved petition. They do understand that the timeline and process sometimes extends beyond the validity of the approved petition. I think you should be okay since you do have an email from the embassy, just make sure you carry it.
