I've been looking for ways to to keep myself occupied while waiting for my petition to be processed, so I compiled this list of I-129F VSC filers with NOA1s waiting for NOA2s. The data is from the VJ.com timelines, and specifically from the reports available on the timelines. The number I have listed to the left of names is simply the sort order based on NOA1 date.

Obviously, we have no idea what order VSC will process NOA2s (once they start processing them for us again) but its something to help pass the time.

I hope so!! When we got NOA1 in 4 days, everyone around us started getting NOA2s in like...14, 15 days.

Hello day 71! yikes It's got to be coming any day now. Hope we all get ours soon! It's hard being a VSC filer and you know...thinking you're lucky to get the fastest service center...and then getting stuck!

I just hope we don't get an RFE, although if we did, it would be nice to know someone is at least looking at us.
jerzboi
# 20 on the list present and accounted for. Did I read correctly “when VSC starts processing them again” Why did they stop? Tripti & Parag it was nice of you to take time to put this together, I will be checking here to see if theirs any movement with other May filers probably as much as I check USCIS website. Good luck everybody!!
bszoom42
They didn't officially stop processing (there was no notice that I am aware of) but based on the NOA2 normally generated, it appears that none have been generated recently from VSC. I imagine that they have not allocated any resources to processing them for the time being as they are:

1. Processing other petitions
2. Possibly still dealing with the H1B reciepting overload
3. Still dealing with the incorrect phone number on NOA1 issue.

Also, last year around this time, VSC did slow down processing of K-1s as well.

bszoom42
Great news!

#03 Carmi & Lonnie from Philippines and #11 Chinenye & Amadi from Nigeria have received NOA2s from VSC!!

This means that things are picking up again!

Hey Jas S, welcome to VJ. The list I have above is just the I-129Fs for K-1 Visas. I didn't think about adding the K-3s. If its easy to do, i'll add them in too.

So how many of you called VSC and what were you told? I was only on the phone 11 minutes--that's including going through the menu (went the RFE route) and waiting on hold for only about 2 minutes...and the woman who answered was very nice. She said my petition was stuck in security checks, but she also said nothing appeared to be wrong with it.

I called around 11AM EST on Monday. Prior to that I tried calling on a different Monday between 5 and 6, but just got your run of the mill USCIS drone because no one was at VSC and I was transferred...I was on hold that time for 45 minutes. If you call USCIS and they say no one is at the service center you're trying to call, just hang up, the drones aren't worth your time. lol.

Come onnnnn NOA2!!!!!!!! whistling.gif

No, they said every case was different. But my fiance is Middle Eastern and he lived here for over 2 years as a minor so I'll bet that has something to do with it. ranting33va.gif My local congressman's office turned out to be unhelpful this morning. They told me that we have to be past the processing times for them to do anything....so condescending. I'd rather call VSC any day.

And the wait is killing us, too! 75 days since NOA1 today.

The VSC posted processing times (on the USCIS site, not VJ) is December 14. They are not accurate at all but these gov't offices swear by them. sad.gif No help at all, really. It's so frustrating to think I might have to wait up to 6 months (or more!!) for anyone to really help.

I really think it depends on the time of day you call. When you call and it says "If you are wondering about a request for more evidence" etc, just go straight for that one and follow the prompts whether you have an RFE or not. It will say "You need to send what we requested" or something, and then if someone is at VSC, the phone will start ringing. If not, then it will say "no one is at the service center you're trying to contact" and you'll be transferred to a generic USCIS call center, which is not helpful. Unfortunately I press so many numbers I don't know the exact route, but I think it's 2, 1, and 3. Not 100% on it though. Look up the "RFE trick" in the forums and you'll find tons of info.
bszoom42
Yes, it looks like we will need to be more patient at VSC. According to the following release: http://www.uscis.gov/files/pressrelease/Re...Times062207.pdf, VSC will not be in full reporting compliance until 7/13/2007.

How that affects us is as follows. The center director can at his discretion choose the allocation of adjudicators to a particular task. And since they have up to 6 months to process I-129Fs (as per USCIS cover their rear timelines) the director is choosing to stop processing new I-129Fs temporarily so that they can catch up with things they are clearly behind on.

My guess is that until VSC is in full reporting compliance, we will not see many I-129Fs approved. The ones that are already on adjudicators desks, and the ones waiting on RFEs shouldn't be affected, but I don't think new stacks of I-129Fs will be pulled from the files until after they are caught up.

For the K-3 list, I'm not sure how far back we want to start it. I do see lots of approvals due for March K-3s, so I started it at March. Also, I'm not sure if K-3s are adjudicated in the same "queue" as K-1s, so I listed them seperately. If anyone has any information on that, let me know, and I will combine the lists if appropriate.

Here is the K-3 waiting on NOA2 list for Vermont Service Center:

The ones that are already on adjudicators desks, and the ones waiting on RFEs shouldn't be affected, but I don't think new stacks of I-129Fs will be pulled from the files until after they are caught up.

ouch. Well at least there's a little bit more of an explanation. Thanks for finding all this info!

Hi Nora and Ryan,

I found this post which mentions how you might be able to get your case expedited (at least the USCIS portion) when the USC is going to be deployed http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=43385

Seems like you got this somewhat figured out at the VSC. My timeline started in April 11th got an RFE thought I was in for a long wait. Sent RFE Back and got a NO2 about two weeks later. So an RFE means that someone looked at your case, and is waiting for more info. When that info comes back it seems like it goes back to the person that sent you the RFE then if the info you sent back is perfect they approve the petition. I still don't wish an RFE on anyone, but at least you know someone has physically looked at your whole petition. Suggestion: Keep your fiance or fiancee sprits up they are more in the dark about this whole process than you are. VJ timeline is pretty acurate. Everyone please update timeline. Now I am just praying that no hang ups at the NVC. Good luck to everyone waiting is very hard.

Looking at the Historical Processing Times for VSC, it seems like the second half of the year is much slower than the first half. mad.gif

Yes, thats true. There are more applications coming in during the spring and summer, and thats the same time adjudicators like to go on vacation. smile.gif

On top of that, April marks the cut off for H1B submission, which puts an increased load on VSC as well.

The good news is that ths is not unusual, and VSC usually returns to its speed self by fall, so we just have to hang on!

kicking.gif Congratulations kicking.gif to Lona & Tony, La & Sann, and Ania & Nate! The three of them received their NOA2s from VSC on 6/28. Also, the three of them had their NOA1s from March, which supports my idea that new I-129Fs aren't being pulled at the moment.

Also, it has been suggested that there is no different queue at VSC for K-1 and K-3; so I will recombine the lists to make one super list, and at least we will feel a little bit better when we see the number go down a wee bit.

Of course, when I combine the lists, our numbers go up...

Anyway, congratulations again! 3 more done, the rest of us yet to come.
