19/21 (as an Albertan, I still maintain that the oil industry started in Leduc, so I was unfairly zapped 1) laughing.gif

Some of the questions, like school supplies are weird. Because how would we, as Canadians, know it wasn't common elsewhere? My USC husband was looking at it when I was doing the quiz and didn't know what any of those were. tongue.gif

wow I think I fared the worst 12/21 laughing.gif

Caladan
I got 11, but the only one I was really certain of was Lloydminster.
autumnchik
I got 12, but honestly, I'm sure mostly due to some good guessing on my part! The only questions I was secure on were related to territories or provinces smile.gif

This is driving me nuts... I can't remember what a Scribbler is! I *know* that I know the word. I KNOW that I had whatever it is when I was in school. But that's as far as I get.

Pleaaase... someone... save me from going completely insane over this? smile.gif

I got 11 ..

But c'mon.. it focused on ONT and the West... geesh!! Don't they know Atlantic Canada is the hub of Canada??? whistling.gif
warlord
Whoo hooo I got 8. And that was probably because the last 10 questions I just started guessing rather then putting in 'I don't know'.

I rock...
Sabovee
20/21.

smile.gif

A couple of those were guesses, and I guess I guessed right! (There are WAY too many guesses in that sentence).

Exactly! Especially Nova Scotia! whistling.gif

I took the Canadian Citizenship Practice Test last night too...I scored 87%. 97 out of 111 questions, not bad I guess. My hubby quizzed me on Nova Scotia history...*gulp* I didn't do so good. I guess I need to study a bit more since I plan on living there someday. biggrin.gif

Oohh that would be fun for me to take. Where is the Canadian Citizenship test? I suppose I can just try and google it. I'd be surprised if I got 5% correct...
derekkj
Dunno how, but I got a 15/21. I am the USC and guessed most of them. Derek must be whispering Canadian nothings in my ear at night. laughing.gif

I got a 7 by sheer luck. I said I dunno for most of them and guessed at the others. I'll take the Citizen practice test next!
CherryXS
On the citizenship test, I got 104/111.

The mistakes included all 3 questions relating to BC government.
jg_am
80/111 for Canadian Citezienship... 72%. I like how some questions are answered later on in other questions. Some of them were ridiculous as there was only one good answer. I guess they don't want any shut outs. And some had answers with US people/government.
Cassie
99/111 what's with all the BC questions??? tongue.gif
JoeCanuk
Isn't it so much better to just be born with Canadian citizenship? devil.gif whistling.gif
Len_and_Bren
Now I am ashamed.... got 9. But I guess I have the excuse (lame as lame, but valid) of not being a Canadian and of having been here only since 2001.... does that exonerate me???????????????????????????? blink.gif

That was my question...besides, there were hardly any questions about Nova Scotia. biggrin.gif
neiks
I got 81% (90/111) All the BC questions were b/c it came from the Richmond library. I think if you actually go to the CIC site you can get a sample citizenship quiz from there.
kimmbo
I (USC) got 4... LOL

my husband (Canadian) got 17
liz_legend 'n Ol
Haha, I got 5!

but my USC fiance got 13!!!

embarrassed.

I've been looking on the CIC website...can't seem to locate a practice test. Do I need to learn basic conversational French? I mean, I want to learn French, but it will be the French Acadian that my husband speaks. I have a few years anyway... smile.gif
KarenCee
NM about the French...it says "OR". AUGH, I am not awake yet and that's not a good time to read anything of importance. smile.gif

Still can't find a practice test though.

I can't seem to find it on the CIC either. Maybe it's just the info booklet you can get on there. No, you do not need to know French for Canadian citizenship. If that was the case a lot of us, me included would be in trouble.... plus, I work for the Federal gov't and don't even need to know French for my position. I thought that you were required to know at least one of the 2 official languages (English or French) but I'm not even too sure of that b/c I've had lots of people with a citizenship card that don't seem to know english or at least they pretend they don't. Funny thing is that they somehow knew enough English to get into the US thru US customs.
KarenCee
It's good to know I don't have to speak French to apply for PR or Citizenship - right now I would be sunk! I have a few years anyway before we're at the point of moving to Nova Scotia (home for my hubby).
Kathryn41
If you were applying for Canadian citizenship based upon the points system set up for independent application as opposed to family sponsorship, it would help to know French since you receive extra points for being able to read and write both of the official languages. It isn't a requirement though. Interestingly, the Canadian Citizenship test consists of two parts - the first are general questions about Canadian geography, history and politics. The second are questions that are specific to your part of the country. We used to provide copies of the answers for the second part from our Constituency Office since oftentimes the information had to be gathered from a variety of different sources and required a bit of research, usually from newspapers and at a library. The answers to the first part, however, were all contained in the "A Look at Canada" book that CIC mailed you when they acknowledged your application for citizenship, so we never provided those.
Kathryn41
Here is a link to the actual questions that can be asked on the Canadian Citizenship exam:
