I'm too much of a coward to try it with the Charlotte, NC ASC. Last time we did biometrics for AOS they had a checklist of the day's appointment. I've tried to search on VJ if anyone had posted about a successful walk-in there but could not find anything. So, I just went to the store and got a few more ounces of patience.

Good point about the photo, didn't give it another thought that it would be the photo on your green card for the next 10 years,,,,have to make sure I look Ok for Tuesday!

I am wondering why Vermont isn't even moving dates? Anyone any ideas? Is it they have took on too much taking on I129F visa processing along with California? They never even move dates when the processing times come up! Even worse now we are coming in to "holiday" season when there seems to be a "holiday" for goverment workers a couple of times a month!

Yup Gemma, gotta look good in the photo! Tonight is the big night for me - I have been growing my hair ever since I moved here, but have decided that it really doesn't do a lot for me! So am going to get chopped ready for my bios tomorrow. Hope I like it!

Last time I went for bios they had the devil's own job trying to get decent fingerprints from me. Hope it goes better tomorrow!

When I had my last photo done was full of a cold, and looked rotton on it, glad to be getting shut of it, especially when the immigration look at my passport and my green card as if to say,,,,this is the same person???? LOL

Although I am happy that we have been transferred to CSC, my happiness is dampened at the thought of others who are not so fortunate and are "languishing" in the slow service centers.

Although a naughty sneaky evil part of me remembers when we were going for K1 and Vermont were racing ahead of everyone else ...........

Just shows that it all evens out in the end!

Now I feel really bad for thinking that!

yeah well... as long as I don't have to wait 15 months for the card again... if it's only 6 months this time around I should be more than half way there now!

Hey Everybody,

Jenny just got finished with her biometrics. Her ASC appointment notice has 19 Oct 2007 for her biometrics (sorry I made a mistake on earlier post.....I said it was 12 Oct and this is wrong). We went this morning to the North Houston ASC and they let us walk in !! Jenny filled out the one page form and we sat down to wait our turn. In less than 2 minutes the guy comes over and asks if Jenny has number 64....that's her number so she is next. We were in and out of there in less than 20 minutes.

A very good experience. This is the second time we walked in for biometrics and they took us both times. The lady who received Jenny at the door did look to see how many people were getting biometrics........so I got the impression if they were too busy they might have turned us away. But as luck would have it they were not busy.

So, biometrics completed today 28 Sept 2007.

Just got back from doing my bios in Louisville. I was in and out of there in 15 mins. Honestly, there was not a SOUL in the place. The guy at the desk filled out quite a bit of my form, I did the rest and then he took me straight in for processing. He even asked me if I liked my photo or did I want him to do it again! Can't praise them highly enough. Just wish I hadn't put so much money in the parking meter

The only worrying thing was that my prints kept coming up as match warning - he said it was cos they were similar to others. Only hope they aren't like some criminal's!!!

Now I have to refrain from checking online for a few days at least!

I had my biometrics today. When I got home, I check my status online but it says that my application number is invalid. I called USCIS customer service and they told me that since I'm applying for I-751, I won't be able to check my status online until my case has been approved because the data is in a different database. Has anyone else have trouble acccessing their case online?

naaaa, give it a day or so... I was able to check my status a day after biometrics.

Shame on you!


Seems like each place you go to next in this process slows up when you get there, I sat for over a year at Newark waiting on my 2 year green card!

Susanne went to Charlotte all by herself yesterday for her biometric. I couldn't accompany her since I had work to do. But she recently got her GPS and loves it.

She got to Charlotte in time and reported that the service was so good. The two ladies were very courteous and got everything done in fifteen minutes.

Gemma, honestly I feel really bad. At time we did K1 Nebraska was an infamous black hole. We even considered moving across the border to KY (all of 10 miles away) so we could go through Texas instead! All water under the bridge now .......... I am rooting for ya now!

Hi guys, me again. Just checked my status online to find that it was touched/updated yesterday (sunday). Not that anything had changed, however! Maybe that's why CSC approves so quickly - they are working sundays!!!!

Its all no bother at this stage how long this takes to get approved, and get the green card, as come next Novemeber I can apply for ciitzenship and have my letter of extension of a year right now. The only process that really got to me was the K1 visa, having to be away from my husband, so I can understand your frustration back then

Yes, Gemma, those days were just AWFUL! I had to wait for my divorce to be made absolute before we could even apply and it just seemed to go on for ever. Luckily I managed to come over and spend quite a bit of time here, but every time I came through immigration my heart would be in my mouth in case they turned me away.

But it's a bit like giving birth - you soon forget the pain!

Yea, I know what you mean.....Jenny had her biometrics on Friday 28 Sept. I checked online the next day, Saturday, and her case was updated and had a new date of 28 Sept there. Well, this morning I checked again and the date is 30 Sept...........Sunday ! So maybe they are working on Saturdays.........that would be nice

I had been told be my POE to apply for the correct documentation in London on my trip to visit my now husband, so I did go along to the embassy on my return to the UK only to be told I couldn't return to the USA as I had spent too much time there, so I had to wait for the divorce and keep away from the states at the same time, it was a awful time back then being seperated, thank god them times have ended.

Please add more info about my case... I mailed the packet on Aug 29th, they received on Aug 30th which is the date for my NOA1... looking at the envelope it was mailed Sep 24th from California although I mailed it to Nebraska... it was a long trip for that packet!!

gksyd1 was approved 9/12/07...without interview!! Sweet Basil!! (to quote mark!)

Not sure if gksyd1 was transferred to CSC as her timeline does not say so ...but based on their dates, it looks like she was.

Well had my fingerprints done today was there around 10 mins in all,,,filled ou a form did bio's ad left. I did jump the queue though as the 3 people in front of me there fingerprints were not gonna read they were told so they were waiting for the ink man!

Way to go Gemma! You queue jumper, you! Or would that be a line cutter inner????

Something like that,,,,see how the american language makes no sense!

Intresting to know that when others go for bio's are they asked to show there hands when they arrive to fill out the form,,,,or is that the guy on receptions idea of a joket? Then later the machines won't actually read some peoples bios,,,strange

got our NOA1 today, and we got transferred to California SC!

(i'm putting in the actual date of receiving the NOA1, since the date on it is the same as them receiving my application, and doesn't really help anything statistics wise )

FVA,

In their notices about receipting delays, USCIS specifically indicated that the receipt dates shown on the NOAs will be that of the day the mail was first received by them. This is done so that petitioners are not "punished" for the delay in receipting and get into the queue on the same day that they should have if all applications were processed immediately.

However, as you can see in the list below, people have put different NOA dates. I think some are putting the date they actually receive the NOA while others are putting the NOA receipt date.

yeah, I understand that. I put in the actual receipt date because I believe people are more interested in how long it takes for USCIS to send the NOAs, since it's obvious that the NOA date will be their receipt day. Seems redundant to me to put I-751 Date and NOA1 Date as 2 days apart. Doesn't help anything statistically, regarding processing times.

it's just my personal opinion, you don't have to agree or do like me.

Nope, nothing out of CSC since Silvanski's approval on 10/2/07. Maybe they are all on vacation!

Well still not touch at all!

Plus, my two stepdaughters were supposted to received their green card since July and still haven't get them, I called and requested info and was told that they still reviewing the cases.

I think that they are holding them until my husband I-751 gest approved. It's kind of stupid becuase they also told me on their welcome letter's that both of them will received a two years green card instead of a 10 years. I was told that if the marriage was over 2 years they will get their 10 years one. So, my toughts are they are holding them and when he gets approved they might received their 10 years one, not their 2 years.

have any of you hear of something like this?
