I was just thinking... USCIS adjudicators don't just do things on a whim - there are
manuals, memos, rules and regulations to follow.
The Adjudicator's Field Manual is available
online and doesn't mention any special
rules for people approved without an interview.

That would indeed be the most rational presumption. However, it is also possible that I-485 files of those approved without interview are "flagged" for closer review during I-751. Flag or not, we are hoping that this closer review does not mean an automatic interview but, rather, it would still be the adjudicator's discretion whether or not an interview is required based on the evidence submitted with the I-751.
I'd definitely be watching my I-485 file to see if it gets a touch when my I-751 gets touched too. But, I have to get my NOA first

"Flagging" is not in the manual either.
Isn't it against the rules to "flag" a file for closer examination?
Adjudicators are supposed to assess cases on their own merits, and
a flag would be likely to inhibit an unbiased evaluation or otherwise
prejudice the ultimate decision on the case.

A few times when I came thru immigration and was secondary interviewed the officer used to tell me my name was flagged, and each time I come thru I will be questioned as my name was "flagged"

Grounds for a lawsuit, if you ask me. By "flagging" your name, they are subjecting you to unfair discrimination.

We also got my son's NOA today. I was starting to wonder whether he was going to get a separate one since he is just an "inclusion" on my application.
Hope the biometrics letters arrive soon so we can start tracking online.

it seems like everybody is getting transferred to california, which would make sense.
you guys think they sent all our files back to our original service centers after they approved our I-485s? i doubt it!
i wish somebody would get approved already..

FVA, the transfers are being done to de-congest the other service centers that are lagging behind (e.g. TSC, NSC). If you looked at another thread, you will see that I-751s received at TSC after July 1 were (and still are) transferred to CSC. I'm not so sure what's the basis for NSC transfers to CSC.

Oh I see most of texas has been transfered to California.... maybe if I am lucky I will too... I am waiting anxiously the mail every day...
And I am freaking out... I scheduled a trop to Europe for Christmas... what would dhappened if I do not have the green card?
Will I be able to travel?

Betti, don't worry about your trip. Once you have your receipt/NOA1 it says on there that your green card is extended by 1 year. You just need to carry the notice with you on your trip along with the green card and your passport.
I saw yesterday that someone else who was transferred to CSC got an extremely speedy approval - 6 weeks or so from applying. Hope that pattern holds for us all!

Hun, you're not the only one unfortunately. People who have filed with TSC before July 1 are stuck stuck stuck.
They say it's taking 6 months....we have peeps here on VJ that have been waiting for at least 8-9 and nothing has happened.

My application was delivered to Nebraska on 9/18, I guess I’m hoping like hell that it will be transferred to California?? Two month processing? That is unbelievable.
Are there perhaps any similarities with the people’s who’s files transfer to California? Did they include a cover letter? Have children? Same country of citizenship?
That information would be interesting.

Our check cleared the bank yesterday 20 Sept '07.........I looked online at the check and there is a WAC number.....this means CSC right??

Yes, your file has been forwarded to CSC! Hope you get your NOA soon! However, you'll have to wait until you get your Biometrics NOA before you can track your case status online.

Quick update on Jenny's progress......
Biometrics date is scheduled for 12 Oct 2007.
I'm off work tomorrow so we are going to try a walk in for the biometrics.....I will let you know how that goes.
