Hi everyone hope all is well today. Well I find out via the NVC IVR system that the DS-3032 & AOS Fee Bill was generated yesterday. At first I was going to do the shortcuts but w/all the changes w/the Kingston Embassy I decided to wait it out b/c I can't afford any more delays. With that said, I have two wks vacation coming up in Oct and would like to have my interview schedule in Dec (hopefully around Christmas). I know we can't bank on that but any date in Dec will be fine for us.

For those who have recv'd interview dates from NVC how long does it usually take from the reciept of the DS-230 packet to the actual interview being scheduled? Does it happen when the case is completed? If I were to do everything via mail w/NVC how long will it take?

Thanks in advance.

Nyseness,

I am waiting on the NVC to scheduled my appointment under this new process. The NVC recieved the marriage lisence, birth certificate and police certificate on June 15, 2007. So I am praying my case is completed now and our interview will be scheduled shortly. But I also would love to hear from anyone that interview was scheduled by the NVC

Alll,

My case was completed at the NVC on yesterday dancin5hr.gif dancin5hr.gif . I sent the NVC an email on Saturday requesting status and I been trying to call them today. All of the lines are busy. I find that the reps in the morning are so much more helpful than the ones at nights. I really just want to know my interview date or an ETA for scheduling the interview. Will update you as soon as I get more info.

Per the rep all the interiews for July for the Kingston embassy was scheduled the 2nd week in June so I will not be getting a July interview date sad.gif . Interviews for August will start being schedule the 2nd week in July so I can call back by the 3rd week in July to see if David got an August date. I am still waiting on a response to my email to the NVC. I will also call the NVC at least once a week until I am given an interview date.

Guys let me know if anyone else get a interview date! Thanks!!

Congratulations, Jenice!!! You have given the rest of us hope after having these changes kicking.gif ! I am sending all the documents to the NVC tomorrow overnight...my husband just sent his police certificate to me this evening. Thanks for keeping us posted. If it so happens that my husband and I get a date in August, that works well, since I planned on taking vacation in August anyway.

Guys.. helpsmilie.gif Is there anyone pursuing a IR1/CR1 and the NVC has scheduled your interview in the last couple of weeks; helpsmilie.gif can you please tell me how long it took from when the case was completed at the NVC before you got your interview date. Did you have to wait to get the letter before you knew the date? Was the automatic voice system ever updated with this status?
Monday will be exactly two weeks since the NVC completed my case and I have not heard anything crying.gif :crying

We can only hope that things will go that fast. Unfortunately, "red tape" will slow processes down unsure.gif . I am not sure how long it takes for the response on the medical, which I can see as the only reason that the interview scheduling maybe more than 1 month in advance. Can't wait to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
I hope you will hear something soon! good.gif

Tamieka,

The automatic voice system was updated to said....you case was completed on Jun 25th please allow 8 weeks from this date for further instruction. If it has been more than 8 weeks then press 2. I then called the NVC on Jun 26 and was told that all the interviews for July was gone and interviews for August would not start to be scheduled until the 2nd week of July. I am calling over there today. I just need to find some time.

NVC updates their system every Monday, so you won't hear any changes until Tuesday on the IVR system unless you speak to an operator.

The medical takes 2 wks (14 days) to arrive at the Embassy. Once you recv you interview date from NVC you can then schedule the medical, however, you will need the interview packet to actual attend the medical.

I called the NVC today and got the same scripted response I got Jun 26--My case has been completed the next step is for the NVC to scheduled the interview. I was feeling sure I would know something this week but after listening to the robot that answer the phone at the NVC you can never tell. I also work on Saturdays. It's not just that we're delaying the process (just a bit) b/c I want a Dec interview date. I know I can't guarantee anything but I'm going to JA for Christmas for a family reunion and it would be nice to complete everything all on one trip.

I think most of us are still in a holding pattern, waiting to get updates from the NVC. Have you gotten any updates on your case? I read about what you were going through on another post and recognize that you have been waiting for word from the Embassy since January on the interview. mellow.gif

yeah it's been really rough

I just want to know if the NVC is skipping over people. If that's the case then I can raise hell. If not then I just have to continue waiting and hopefully we'll have an interview date soon. I remember how happy I was in January when we found out the NVC sent the case the Jamaica. Now, it's just upsetting. Every time I call the next two months are already full and a lot of people waiting etc. etc. Nobody can give me a straight answser

If your case was completed in Jan I don't think NVC will be able to assist you. They didn't change the rules until June so you will need to contact the Embassy. Since you have been trying to call and email and recv'd no reponse, I recommend going on their website and sign up for an appt. That way your spouse will be able to speak to someone directly. I just don't understand why they're taking this long, I never heard of that before. Did they say you were in AR review? I can't think of any other reason for the delay.

Congrats Tamieka on your case being completed!! Was the automatic system update today? Did it say the same spill that I got? I spoke with a rep yesterday afternoon and he stated appointments were still being scheduled for August. This would be completed on Monday and I could call back on Tuesday to see if I was in th the batch that got scheduled. My payers are for you to also get scheduled since your case was completed before the cut off time. Honestly how many applicants could actually be at this point for scheduling in Kingston.

It would be so nice if some one from VJ is in Kingston at the same time as my interview. David's job has him so busy so I have decide to only spend a couple of nights Jamaica if the interview is before August 27, 2007. I had planned on staying 7-10 days so we can visit his family that live closer to the Mobay area. My hubby office is in Kingston but he lives in Portmore area. I will probably stay at the Hilton. We stayed there for our honeymoon and my girlfriend and I stay there during my 1st visit to Kingston. It is not far from the Embassy and I entertain myself if David have to work really long hours.

Yes it did say the same thing. I hope to be in the August batch...it would be pretty cool to have another VJ'er in the batch. I hope there is good news next week. My husband works in downtown Kingston and lives in Portmore as well. Sorry to know that the job has David so busy. I am sure Aaron will be able to take some time as I had planned to go home during Independence week. But, I will put off my vacation until we get the interview date so that I can take a few days then. When he finally gets here I'll take vacation then to help him get settled in.
I am thinking of staying at Christar Villas at least the night before the interview, because if I am not mistaken, the Embassy is now near Liguanea, near to Campion (my alma mater).
I hope you get good news next week because you have been waiting so much longer. star_smile.gif

I wonder if we are the first set on VJ going through the new process. So far we haven't heard from anyone that has been scheduled by the NVC for Kingston interviews. Has anyone seen any post on the regional boards?

Nobody informed me if we were in AR review or not but I still don't think it should be taking this long. I have my senator and congressman inquiring and they said they would contact me this week with what ever information they attained. Also I just sent them an email saying I know NVC has begun assigning dates for interviews and have clearly skipped over couples that have been waiting since January (a lie as far as I know, but possible). I requested an appointment to discuss the matter. Wish me luck. Hopefully I'll get some good news this week.

Guys.. helpsmilie.gif Is there anyone pursuing a IR1/CR1 and the NVC has scheduled your interview in the last couple of weeks; helpsmilie.gif can you please tell me how long it took from when the case was completed at the NVC before you got your interview date. Did you have to wait to get the letter before you knew the date? Was the automatic voice system ever updated with this status?
Monday will be exactly two weeks since the NVC completed my case and I have not heard anything crying.gif :crying

My daughter's case was completed on 20th Dec. 2006 and NVC forwarded it to the embassy in Ghana on 5th July, 2007

You are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope your senator and congressman is able to get the ball rolling for you. It's so hard to be in limbo like this, especially when you know you are so close!! Hopefully, if you raise enough hell, someone will start digging around and put your file on high priority so that you can be interviewed ASAP.

Keep us posted on the correspondence from your senator and congressman. Looking at your timeline, you have been going through this for awhile.

Jenice - any good news? Can't wait to hear what's the verdict from NVC. I will be giving them a call later tonight, or tomorrow morning on my way in to work. I know they get fairly busy midday.

Well my senator's secretary called yesterday and referred me to someone in another senator's office. She also said I should call her back tomorrow to update her. The gentleman she referred seems really eager to help. I just faxed him a letter and he said he wil jump on it asap (now).

The lady who I spoke with at my congressman's office said they would email the embassy last week. She told me they usually get a response within a week. I'm going to wait until Friday to call for an update if she doesn't call before then.

I'll def let you all know how things go.

All,

I have not got an interview date yet. I spoke with a rep at the NVC on Monday night and was told that interviews were still being scheduled for the month of August and I should check back on Friday. So we are still waiting wacko.gif

Congrats Empress!!! Per a rep at the NVC today; we did not get scheduled for an August interview and the scheduling for August has been done. Scheduling for Sep 07 will start the 2nd week of August. So I should call back the 3rd week in August for a status. This timframe will put us at the end of the 8 weeks the NVC state I should have received additional instructions when our case was completed on Jun 25. wacko.gif wacko.gif

I'm sorry Jen  but I'm sure you won't have to wait the 6 (will be 7+ by interview) months we did. Just hang in there and I will be pullng for you next month. I really think this new NVC system is going to make things a lot easier. and cheaper too since you won't have to call the embassy long distance. Also it's better since you have an idea when to call the NVC back and no calling haphazardly every couple days.

Spend the time getting docs in order, your home in order, your bed tongue.gif etc. I've been planning to purge some papers on my dining table for weeks. Today I went to walmart bought a clear container and did the darn thing. I also reorganized my book shelf (been meaning to do that for over a year). Just keep busy. The last few weeks have been so frustrating, more frustrating than the last 5 months put together. I still can't believe it. But trust me the date will come yes.gif

Empress, I know you are cloud nine kicking.gif I know you must feel like a ton has been taken off your head innocent.gif ....I wanted to ask, do you think its better to go with your spouse to the interview? Will the embassy allow you to go with him in Kingston?

Although it's not required the Kingston Embassy STRONGLY recommends the petitioner to attend the interview. It's the BEST proof anyone can possibly provide. Even though my funds are tight I'm going to to the interview. I might have to beg on the street corner but I'm going nonetheless. I'm going to start a fund to help support the cause whistling.gif

laughing.gif I know what you mean about that. I have been saving for that stay ever since I came back from my last visit.
