OK. I just called USCIS and spoke to an Officer Martinez who was very helpful. She advised me that they are indeed sending all applications for K1 visas back to the Nebraska service center. This is supposed to speed things up, but we shall see.

I then asked her about my specific application and she said that it is in the process of being moved to Nebraska and might in fact already be there. Either way I should use the Nebraska date as my guideline. I know that this does not clear things up completely but I hope that it is a start.

hmmmm.....So I wonder if my petition is already there or is in the process of being transferred. I just got touched and I wonder if that means it's being transferred or actually under adjudication.
TracyTN
I'd still like to see some kind of statement from the USCIS on this. Considering the idea all along of sending I 129fs to California was that they are supposedly wanting the service centers to be more 'specialized' in what they process.

Or so I thought!

If you're in the system, I wouldn't worry about it. They'll send your file where ever it needs to be sent.
payxibka
So NSC is going to be the sole processor of I-129Fs for K-1s?

Yep my guess earlier, and reason why I-129F, and Spouse I-130 petitions are now listed on NSC and not the others.

SEE: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...c=73754&hl=

Hopefully that will free up some adjudicators at CSC to process our AOS paperwork.

Thanks good to know.

Did you happen to ask if they are moving ALL files to Nebraska, or just the ones that were originally at Nebraska, transferred to CSC, and now are being transferred back to Nebraska?
geocolorado
She said that all of them were being moved there, and Nebraska would be the only center processing K1s........... for how long I don't know.

ALL, they dont list processing times on CSC, VSC, or TSC, just NSC now.
qbertz7
Right now I can only assume this will cause delays in the short term, which sucks cause I feel like my NOA2 should be right around the corner wacko.gif

That sucks! I just sent off my I-129F at the end of May. So now this will probably double the waiting time.
TracyTN
Why are we jumping to the conclusion that this will 'double' processing times?

They have always transfered some I 129fs (from TSC and NSC) and it didn't seem to help/hurt processing times. The only difference now is the center that is processing them.

and that all VSC petitions would be coming over as well.... at least that first would appear to be the case
LvivLovers
Sweet. The only service center my application hasn't been to now is VSC. lol I sort of doubt this is really going to help efficiency...maybe for some people it will help, but for many others it's going to make the wait longer.
TracyTN
True, fwaguy, but we still don't know that this will 'double' processing times (although possibly for VSCers it might - anything longer than 3 weeks, though, would be doubling for them).

Still find it odd that they've not put anything on their site about this.
freecake
thanks so much for finding out.
the cranky child in me is stamping its feet at the fact i was past a month waiting with VSC and now this. of course you all will throw stones at me for bringing it up but of course it is the timing we came to expect.

i can (and must) deal with the delay if any and i'm glad to know rather than it being up in the air.
Dan&Tiffany
Daaaaamn. Talk about adding a bit of stress. Well - it's like TracyTN said, doesn't HAVE to mean that processing time will double. I would be a bit concerned of things still being in any sort of order once they arrive based on reports from previous adjucators that files are just kept in bins or boxes for the adjucators to grab and work on.

OK - positive...CSC has been crap lately. We all know that. Half of the filers don't get emails or updates on the website; files getting lost; erradic periods of movement and then almost a standstill. Perhaps it is due to the H1B visas. Who knows?

Hope that it actually will speed things along. Maybe it's been in the works for a while and just kept hush-hush.
Zee Bee
You know, as long as my petition gets processed, I get an approval and my fiance gets here that is all I want. I don't care where it is processed and if that means that I have to wait longer then so be it.
And this is coming from someone who filed at VSC whistling.gif

THANK YOU SO MUCH for finding out this info for us! *sigh* OK, all we can do is hope for the best I guess.

Wishing you ALL a speedy Visa Journey!

How exactly is this going to speed the process up if Nebraska is now taking I-129F's from both CSC and VSC? I see this as a slow down in the process myself. Hope that I am wrong though. sad.gif
TracyTN
Here's something interesting:

"Well I called and I was just told something different...the guy I talked to said, 'there was no indication of any CSC K-1 applications being moved to NSC'. He also said about 5 other people he talked to today asked him the same question and he told them all the same thing...not sure if he's just clueless or if it's true."

Confusion abounds.

That'll be 'situation normal' as far as USCIS is concerned, then, I think!

Depends how many staff they have to work on the petitions, I suppose... if transferring them to NSC is indeed what they're doing now.
Dan + Gemvita
If they do move the petitions over, I doubt it will increase processing times much, depending how they are set up, it may even decrease them.

If your case is about to be processed, it may just get processed at CSC instead of being sent to NSC. Anything received a certain date would get moved to NSC. But dont take this is the law, just speculation at this point, wait until the USCIS says something about the case processing changes.

Jokes like this will no longer apply because were all in the same boat now....so who will you take your frustration out on now?
TracyTN
Wasn't a joke, nor am I frustrated (as I am through the K1 process). The average for VSC processing times has increased some lately, but before that, 3 weeks was about as long as anyone waited.
Dan + Gemvita
The changes might have something to do with this: http://www.uscis.gov/files/nativedocuments...onOps_Mar07.pdf

Wait so did you call the National Center, or did you call Nebraska? I want to contact someone but I don't know the best way to do so.
freecake
okay *i* just called,
and they told me that
1. my case is still pending (duh)
2. she had not received ANY indication that petitions were moving and pointed out that processing dates were showing up online as Dec 14 2006 for vermont

yeahhhh lots of help, thanks huh.gif

Perhaps the NSC will resume processing I-129F applications and stop forwarding them to the CSC?

As for the VSC, the I-129F processing times are back on the webpage.

My guess is that the VSC is busy doing higher priority work; and the I-129Fs are just sitting idle until the rest of the high priority work is completed.

And no longer on NSC's page... the whole thing was wrong obviously...
