AOS Fee Bill and DS3032 are usually generated on Monday, and NVC system is updated on Tuesday morning. Wait till early Tuesday morning 5 - 6 AM EDT and then call NVC, you might hear the good news. Good Luck

NVV _only_ updates their messages on Tuesdays, right? And they don't generate anything during the week either, right?

I wonder if they're behind on the generating messages. The customer service rep told me that my DS-230 was generated last week (no specific date) but the automated message doesn't say that.

So, do you have to talk to an agent to find out if they've generated the IV bill? I know you have to talk to one to find out about the AoS, but I don't care about finding about that since I'm a step behind on the DS-230 track anyway....no sense in rushing the AoS in

Not sure who you asked this question, but I will answer it anyway. I just called the automated message system and found out about IV Fee Bill generation. Yes, AOS (I-864) is the only package you have to talk to rep to find out if it has been generated or not. Good Luck

Well... that's what I thought until today. I've already talked to 3 different people at the NVC and they don't have a specific date on when the DS-230 is generated. They only say the instructins on how to dowload it were "supposed" to have been mailed "the week of". That's why the automated system doesn't say that it has been generated. So, now I can't use James' shortcuts because I don't have the exact date they mailed out the DS-230. IF they did because it's not guarranteed that they did so.

please add me to the list, like so many others I applied for a K3 and got the I-130 approval first so now I'm considering abandoning the K3 in favor for the CR-1 or just letting them both ride for a while. It seems that the consulate we'd have to go through schedules the CR-1 interviews WAY later than the K3 interviews so I'm a little nervous about how it's all going to pan out. From what I read however, the consulate is supposed to replace any K3 interview with a CR1 as soon as the petition is in their hot little hands. We'll see....

oh, I was asking anyone who felt like answering I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss the IV bill being generated because I was assuming it would be announced on the automated system.

I am not sure if I am posting this concern in the right forum... I hope someone can help me.

I am getting mixed information and maybe because of anticipation, I am so confused. My I-130 was approved on July 2nd, after 8 weeks being moved to CSC from VSC (my case was moved on May 19). I called up NVC and was told that it may take at least a month to 3 months before they can have information as to NVC receives my application. I will be using James's NVC Shortcuts - Version 2.0. Here are my questions:

My husband would have to take my father-in-law to Japan for emergency medical purpose. His trip could last up to 3 months, depending on his health recovery. What can you suggest as to what we can do to make sure we get and NVC receives all the required documents? For one, we are thinking of appointing myself (petitioner) to be my husband's Choice of Agent. What can I do from this end, so that my husband can do what he has to do for his ailing father?

Please help.

It is taking NVC 2 to 3 weeks to assign case number. NVC updates their automated system early Tuesday morning.
Appoint yourself as agent, then you will be responsible for receiving and submitting all paperwork to NVC and your husband can attend to his ailing father.

I was getting the same message and automatically assumed that the DS230 had been generated. So I used James Shortcuts and sent in our DS230. It was accepted even though they did not mail the letter that had been generated until 17 days later. The coversheet arrived with the same date given on the automated message that says my information was reviewed, information found to be missing and a letter was sent to me blah blah blah.

Sorry I've been slow lately. I'm currently away from home (again) so updating this is rather hard. But now this is quite well updated. All comments are of course wellcome !

I am reposting this here - with some additions - since I'm also on the tracking chart on this thread!
HI ALL!

I had to wait a few days to get confirmation, but I am finally able to make an official announcement about this! I got some amazing news on my situation!
As some of you might have noticed on some of my other posts, I not only had an application in for an I-130 and an I-129F, but also was pursuing a claim to derivative US Citizenship thru my father. In order to get proof of US Citizenship, I had to file a passport application. However when I went in for my passport interview earlier this year, the consulate was extremely discouraging about my chances of getting it- even though I thought I had a pretty good amount of evidence to prove my case. So I decided to go ahead and risk the money and inconvenience of filing the visa forms at the same time, so I wouldn't have wasted any time if the citizenship case fell through.

Well to my joy, a couple of days ago I got a phone call from the consulate informing me that my US passport application had been approved and that I was indeed, a US Citizen already!!!!

I do have to mention something - although I had been trying to get information on my citizenship case for months from the consulate, they didn't respond at all and it wasn't until after I contacted a congressman to intervene on my behalf, that I got this call. So if any of you are having problems with your visa applications and wondering if you should contact a congressperson for help, I say go for it! Congresspeople Rock!!!!

I am still in shock over this! I have a sort of guilty feeling about announcing this here, as I know everyone else still has to go thru this horrible ordeal of interviews and fees and separations from their loved ones. I guess the good news for you all is that as I withdraw my applications, it leaves two interview spots for you guys to fill up faster!

I would like to thank everyone here for their wonderful support, help, tips and advice. For listening sympathetically when I wanted to rant, and for your patience when I asked the same question for the nth time. Good luck to everyone and I hope things speed up soon!

I'd especially like to send bouquets of thanks to TRAILMIX who was particularly helpful and not only was a good shoulder to cry on, but gave me some really great advice and leads on finding the info I needed!

To be honest, I don't presicely know. I just took the ideas for additional timelines from Erica's good suggestions. I know that it's not for sent, since we agreed (or "agreed") earlier on this thread to take the timelines when something comes from the NVC to you. In general I have just selected the DS-230 dates from the timelines located at VJ dot com slash timelines etc. The individual memers' have put various dates on there. If I have seen two dates (e.g. by looking at the timelines most put on their signature), I have selected the earliest one (i.e. the generated one). But to sum it up (in my opinion), it doesn't matter that much which you use, since the temporal differences aren't that great anyway. The main purpose of this thread is to see where NVC is going and when (about) it will be your turn.

My DS 3032 was generated this Monday July 16th and the same day i had my wife email NVC appointing me as the agent.
I am looking for their confimation and havent received yet. I know they take about 10 business days...

I see a lot of people paying AOS bill in 1-2 days after the DS 3032 generation. I beleive i will be receiving the AOS bill in mail right? I am a little confused here.......

That's probably because we are using James' shortcuts. As soon as the NVC's automated message says the AOS bill has been generated, you can follow the shortcuts and send it in, no need to wait for it.

Mononoke28 is absolutely right. I used James shortcut and mailed AOS Fee Bill same day automated system said its generated.

Good question. They received my fee bill a week ago today, no sign of it yet.

It usually takes about 2 to 3 weeks. I got mine in 18 days.

So, how long does it take for the IV fee bill to be generated once they accept the agent of choice thingy?

Your NOA2 date 7/27/07 is not correct. Did you mean 7/17/07?
You can call NVC at 603-334-0700, press 1,1,1 and enter your I-130 Receipt number at the prompt. It will tell you if NVC has assigned a Case number or not. Keep checking every other day. NVC usually assigns case number on Monday and updates automated system on early Tuesday morning. Good Luck.

I'm just testing something here. Mononoke28 suggested once that we might want to add the IV bill Recieved in here. I replied that I'm not sure if it fits, but it's probably a good idea. Me being forgetful, I forgot to try it out . So here it is. Does the following line fit your screen on this thread, or does it split to a second line?

If it doesnt fit, please do tell me how big of a screen you have or what your resolution is (if you happen to know either one of these measurements). I'm using a 15" screen and a 1024 x 768 resolution (and I assume mine is among the smallest ones).

I don't want to add an extra chart unless it properly fits in, since othervice this thread will become more useless to those of us, who don't have big enouhg computer screen ...

just a question, how many of you guys in that list are using the shortcuts and who is not. This could be interesting to understand if they really do work. The average is 95 but the shortest is 64 and the longest 174. Thanks for your feedback guys.

JSC stands for James's short cuts, so you can see who did or didn't use them.

Jasmin already gave a good reply... but if you look at the JSC and count the average of those who did use the shortcuts you get to an average of 86 days. If you count the average of those who didn't use shortcuts you get 113 days (excluding anneiy, since she never got a visa and her NVC process was rather strange). Thus on average you save 27 days when you use shortcuts. (I personally even think that you may save up to three months by using shortcuts, since the list of shortcut users vs. nonusers is a bit vague, because there isn't any precise info avail for most members.)

In general the shortcuts save you the time that is spent on mailing things back and forth. At least the DS-3032 e-mail is important, since it might save you up to one and a half month alone, because of the time it takes for postal services to deliver mail from and to the US. Most other shortcuts seem to save around ten days each in postal time.

We (me and Geist) are personally using all shortcuts except the I-864 package one, since it very rarely saves you any time at all. The reason why there isn't a Yes/No sign on the JSC column is because it would be too tricky for me and Trailmix to keep it updated. Those will be added later on when the NVC completes our case.
