Well I call one time to the USCIS and am told I'll receive my NOA1 within 45 days of my submission. I call back after the 45 days and am told that not only will I not receive it within that time frame, but it won't even be mailed out until after 60 days. That means I could very well receive it by 75 days or more. And of course they could give me no reason for this delay. Anyone else going through this bull right now. I have the receipt number (made sure to call and get that after 4 weeks) and check my status on the USCIS website daily. This is just maddening.

As long as you have your receipt number, then NOA1 isn't that important. With the receipt number you can check your case status online, i believe that is the big appeal to getting NOA1 anyway (for the receipt number). having NOA1 isn't going to make them process your petition any faster.

I totally agree, don't loose it in the first lap man, the race is long.

The NOA1 is merely a receipt that shows USCIS *has* your petition. Why are you so upset that you don't have it? You have the case number, that's all you need. The NOA2 is far more important.

You've just started out on this journey, if you're this upset now how are you going to handle the long wait for the NOA2? blink.gif

True its just a piece of paper, you may have the same thing with the 2, being you find out by email first sometimes or others never got the email only the paper notification....and you will need a copy of the 2. good.gif

Take it easy and relax, you have to understand that the only thing that moves slower than USCIS is a glacier and that is only on cold days. If you look at the average timelines you are probably in the right neighboorhood. Any dates or timeframe information is based on an overall average, but things that slow it down are which service center and which country of origin for the benefactor.
Its true this is a long journey and getting upset now is a waste of energy. You are beginning a lifelong journey of marriage , be patient the system works just a little slow sometimes.

I just got my wifes NOA for AOS and it had the wrong address! I was lucky because my postman caught it. I have copies of everything I sent and it appears that whoever entered the data for the AOS made a typo. One thing you might do is verify that they have your address entered correctly, (if you've not already done so).

As long as they have your correct address, I agree that the NOA1 is not that important and that it's the NOA2 that you will need in the future.

I did call awhile back and have the receipt number. I check everything daily online and when I make my calls they always show how unimportant one case is to them. It's just aggravating in general as all you know. You don't want to be without your partner for even a moment. And it's even more aggravating since we have some friends in the exact same places as us (he's in texas and she's in the philippines also) and theirs is processing very quickly. I just miss my wife. Just venting a bit.
