Dear friends,

I am new to this forum and would like to thank you for being so helpful and supporting for so many other members on the board! It's really a very nice place to meet people that are in the same process as you are.

I am wondering if there are other members on the forum that are in the same situation as us. We filed our petition on May 16, California SC got it on the 18th and since then - nothing. Our cheque hasn't been cashed yet.

I read many threads on NOA1's before posting mine. From what I saw most of people who waited for more than 3 weeks finally got their cheque cashed before the end of the 4th week.

It's been quite frustrating as despite we know the whole thing takes a very long time, we would at least want to get our NOA 1.

So are there any other couples that are in the same boat?

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Zee Bee
A lot of the May filers are in the same boat that you are in. I know that someone waited 30 days to get their NOA1 in the mail.
Do not be discouraged by the wait times...this is just part of the process. You know that your package is at CSC and not lost somewhere so they will eventually get to it. Just keep checking to see when they cash your check so that you can follow your case online.
Keep positive!!!

Welcome to the Visa Journey!! Where you will hear it all.

Thank you very much, Zee and kkholiday!

Fact is I don't even hope to get NOA1 in the mail any time soon. I just wish they could have at least cashed the cheque. And that hasn't been done yet.

I am trying to keep positive! smile.gif

It's all very frustrating...I totally understand how you feel. It took them a month to actually cash my check which was terribly frustrating, but once I saw that they had cashed it, I could see the case number on the back of the check so I knew we were at least in the system So don't get too discouraged yet, keep the faith, things will start happening for you guys soon! Keep us posted! good.gif

Take care!

I got our NOA1 in the mail BEFORE the check was cashed, so I had no way of checking for the case #. Since you've waited a number of weeks now, nearly a full month or so, it probably wouldn't hurt to call CSC for a status. Their customer service telephone number is 800-375-5283. If your package was not organized well, it may have been difficult for them to locate your check. Things settle during shipping, so if your check wasn't paperclipped to your form well, it could have fallen anywhere in the package. I double-paperclipped my check to my I-129F form and then Acco-fastened the whole submission packet with the check purposely under the binder clip so it wouldn't get jogged during shipment.

Thanks for a nice post, dj! Fact is all the paperwork we sent was elaborately put together and it was supposed to be very convinient for the officer to look it thru. The check was the first thing to pay attention to. smile.gif

We called them on Wensday and the answer was usual- wait till the end of the week. We will definitely call them on Monday.

I cant believe you got your NOA 1 before the check was cashed! Looks like it's not always the same story. Good luck with your process! smile.gif

I hope that we get our NOA1 soon. Our application was sent in on June 4th which will be 2 weeks on Monday. Still early but since I am moving in a few weeks, I would just like to see it happen before that.

I don't understand how one person can send an app in and get their NOA1 within a week or two while the next, sending to the same place takes over 30 days or more.

Mailed my packet to Nebraska on 5/24, with confirmed receipt signed for on 5/25. I know it is sent on to California. No check has been cashed yet. I am trying to be patient as well, but I sure would like to see that cleared check with the case number on the back. I Acco clipped my packet altogether as well with the check right on top under the binder. wacko.gif

Petition sent to Nebraska on May 2. Checked cashed by California Service Center on May 29 (27 days later). Still no hard copy of NOA1 yet.

You are not alone.

I sent in our I-129F in April and still have not received the NOA1.

It took them about 1 month to cash the check.
Danno
My check was cashed may 16 but I have not seen any No1 yet.
I called and they wrote up an "inquiry" which had a target date
of 8 weeks to get back to me.

If I were you I might call and ask for an inquiry also.
8 weeks is a long time to wait for an answer but better
to start that clock sooner rather than later.

Rosa, I hear u and I sympathize with you. I experience this same. I'll say give it another 10 to 14 days and then if you haven't heard anything, call USCIS to check with customer service. Also, if you use a personal check, you can watch for when the check clears your checking account. Typically, NOA-1 receipt number will be at the back of the check. It will read something like this wacxxxxxxxxx. Good luck and hang in there.
