I'm thinking about filing a I-824 later this month or in early July, if we remain in Administrative Processing at NVC for more than 5 or 6 weeks.

Has anyone used this successfully to activate an approved I-130?

NVC says all cases are considered separately. If the problem is, in fact, a request for a second K visa, then maybe processing for a CR1 won't get caught up in security checks. Her AP at NVC for her K1 two years ago was over so fast that we didn't notice it.

As I recall, only two I-824 filers have reported. One took six months to get the I-130 moving and the other has been waiting since November.

The one since November is Stacey33 and as far as I know, they still haven't forwarded the approved I-130 petition! She got her K3 though and entered the U.S. a few days ago on it.
