I am new to this entire process. I just filed on Wednesday the 129 F packet to the VT service center (and it was received Thursday) for my fiance who resides in Egypt. Just here looking for support and feedback from others who have or are going through this process with their fiance from Egypt. Any suggestions or feedback would be appreciated. So far, I have found all the information to be helpful and everyone to be very supportive. It's nice to hear from other people and I feel less alone in this entire process! I would love to hear from any individuals you can message me or reply would be nice to connect...

Hi Melinda welcome to V.J. My fiance is from Egypt and we went through Vermont also. Usually it does not take that long to recieve your NOA2 Approval from Vermont possbily 1-3 months. Vermont is usually more faster than the other service centers. The best advice i could give you is once your petition is approved at Vermont and its sent to the Cairo Embassy in Egypt make sure you stay on top of things as much as possible at the Embassy they are very unorganized. And you must learn to have tons of patience throughout this process! If you ever need to vent or if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask at anytime. That is what we are here for. Congratulations on sending off your I129F petition. I wish you all the best on your journey.

Thank you so much for your reply. I am so excited about being told about this site. This process appeared so overwhelming and intially I felt so isolated. However it feels so good to be connected to other people who are going through the same process....thanks again and I hope you keep in touch...good luck

I filed through VSC in the beginning of April, good luck. We got stuck but the people who filed in March didn't, so hopefully you'll be like them and not us smile.gif

I am not sure if this will help you or not, but when I filed my I-129f, I worked with a lady from my congressman's office. I called my local representative, and asked for help to get my fiancee into the US. They directed me to a fantastic lady that has helped and answered all my questions, as well as contacted the embassy to find out what is going on. I felt so much better knowing I was filling out the forms properly, and she also told me what I needed to provide for proof or the relationship. When the I-129f was denied the first time, she helped me get the information I needed to refile. I hope in some way this helps you. There was no charge for this. Needless to say, Ahmed has had his interview, and we are waiting an answer from the embassy. And whoever said stay on top of things was right. Make sure once you get as far as the interview you email and call weekly to check on the status. Email me if I can answer any questions for you. Good luck. It is VERY FRUSTRATING!!!!!

Thank you for the support and comments. I did contact my congressman and already got a reply and signed a release and they appear happy to help me with this process. I had no idea of this process when I started and so many here like you have helped with sharing their experiences and given tips. I am so happy to have found this place and I hope you hear good news regarding Ahmed's interview. I am awaiting my NOA2...next step for me on this longgggggggggggg journey...keep in touch.. Melinda

Thanks! So far I contacted my congressman's office and they refused to help me until after my case is past processing times sad.gif. I mean, if it's this hard trying to get an NOA2 out of VSC (of all places LOL) then I'm afraid we're just going to keep getting stuck for long periods of time along the way. That idea really scares the hell out of me but going into this we knew we might get stuck...we were just praying we wouldn't!
