After just over 1 week of having my driving permit, i went and took the test - which I passed!! This is my 1st license as I never drove in the UK so I'm really happy! It expires when my I-94 does, but all i need to do is brng in the NOA1 for AOS and they will extend it for another year, or until I get my greencard!! yey!!!

Congrats, you! You are putting me to shame, getting so much done after being here such a short time!!

Is driving on the 'wrong' side of the road weird, even though you didn't drive in the UK, or does it seem natural? I had some driving lessons, uh, 13 years ago, but haven't driven since... I'm still terrified I'll accidentally start driving on the left or something, though. unsure.gif

I've been here for 6 months now and, despite having major problems even crossing the road on foot, I am now accustomed to the "right hand side of the road" thing. In fact, the left now feels odd.

Course, I can't actually drive yet myself (as you well know!) but I'm feeling more confident that I won't be driving down the left hand side of the road whilst accidentally day dreaming of Cadbury's Flakes. tongue_ss.gif

It was good that I didnt drive in the uk I guess. I got used to driving really quickly due to the fact that I have no old habits to break or that i'm used to driving on the otherside of the road. Life is a million times easier when you learn with an automatic! There's no way I would have even attempted to take my test so early if I had to use a stick!!!

That's what I keep telling myself - that not having to faff about with all that clutch control malarkey will make it 1000x easier... here's hoping, anyway - I wouldn't know, having never driven an automatic in my life! Anyway, I'm so impressed you passed your test so quickly... well done (again)! kicking.gif

...to tell you the truth, my first attempt at the driving test was unsuccessful, so I really admire you! good.gif
