yes it's too hard when we are away from the one who we love .. but sure it makes it a little bit easier when the one knows that he is not by himself .. at the first when the consular retuned my passport and told me my case will be under AP for 1-2 months, i thought it's exception and felt a little worried but now with this long AP list i know that it wasn't an axception .. it's something that useually happen .
i'm very happy to be here and so glad to find you all wonderful people .. thanx again to every one and i hope the AP list will get shorter every day untill it vanish and no body remain

We have about one week left and it will be 6 months since we have been waiting in AP.
I seriously think that the time will never come!!!!!!
Lil tareq (baby) is growing so fast and has already started teething!!!!
He's 4 months old now. At times this waiting thing is all so overwhelming and begins
to feel like a fantacy instead of reality. But all we can do is wait huh? lol
I'm around, haven't forgotten about VJ.

Im really happy for those whose female fiancees are getting such FAST approvals? But why is it soooooooooooooo long for the men? Are not women just as capable of the same things as the men are? I understand WHY the men go through such a harsh AP....but wow. These are families lives they are putting on hold..... Sorry, just my frustration venting today.

I totally know what you mean. When we were going through this, someone mentioned woman in Egypt that were hiding bombs under their clothes back a few years ago. I think this was at a tourist location, but I can't remember. Male or female, things need to be the same.

I think the reality is in the name checks but I'm not sure. Women don't get as many name check hits as men do. I mean lets face it most of the names are similar so it does take some time to sift through them.

What I don't get is the mysterious waiting AFTER the security checks are done, or the mysterious issuing of only 20 passports w/visas at a time, or the mystery of why some just sit in Cairo collecting dust without even going through DOS for the security checks.

The AP/AR list hasn't moved at all I HATE CAIRO

well.. technically they didnt even have AP...

and what was the date of the Interview?

timeline shows interview was 7/8 and visa issued 7/10. I believe the immigrating party was a man too so that makes no sense. I have tried pm'ing her but she hasn't responded.

Hey All,

I think I am supposed to be here though I am not sure what an AP is.

Waleed and I got married Dec. 28th, 2006 in Cairo, Egypt.

We just started the visa application process in June. No interviews and no NOA's yet.

We sent the I-130 on June 6th, and the I-129F on July 16th hoping to avoid the rise in fees that go into effect today. Since we didn't get our first NOA yet we printed off the proof from online that they recieved our I-130 and attached a copy of our processed check with the reciept number stamped on the back and mailed that in with the I-129F.

We read somewhere else on this site that someone did that and it was a success.

I see some of you have been waiting over a year for your spouses to come from Egypt and that concerns me.

My Husband assured me in the begining that he believed it didn't take that long but after reviewing some of the cases on this site I am not so certain.

We were hoping he would be able to come before the end of this year so we could celebrate our one year anniversary together.

Originaly we sent our I-130 to the Nebraska Service Center as noted on the paperwork and they forwarded it on to the California Service Center which is having all the delays.

I'm not certain how the entire process goes from getting the paper work to filling it out to mailing it in and then whatever they do on their end and then getting the visa's.

We're just figuring this out.

We received our viisa and the interview went well. I think that this may be due to how I lived with my husband and his family for about a year. We didn't have any red flags about our case and we were suprised to get it so soon as well. My husband is also egyptian and a beleiver in the evil eye so we are kind of quiet ppl on things like this.

Ah kewl! Was it in Cairo cuz maybe we saw each other at the Ministry of Marriage?

Yup. We were one of the last if not THE last couple to get married that day before they closed down for the holiday.

Oh how funny because we were the first on that day. We had tried the day before and ran out of time because we needed one more thing but I can't remember what. Maybe it was an extra identification for my Husband or something and they told us to come the next day 12/28 and we would be the first ones and we were.

So we started the day and you guys ended it. That is really something!

We WERE the last couple on our day. (not the same day as you guys- I feel left out ) Does that mean that we are slackers??? Just kidding. We had to wait for my FIL to get there to be a witness.

will the list ever get full of visas? I have sent 4 e-mails to the embacy within the last 3 weeks and have recieved nothing back. Is any one else haveing this problem?

I just got a response today from an email that I sent well over a week ago. Of course it was the usual "still pending administrative processing"

I emailed the Embassy 1 weeks before July 25 then on July 25th they sent me the famous email too. Still on the NECCESARY Administrative Processing they are starting to use more fancy works in there emails now i am impressed This is definetely a nightmare but we can make its guys! We will if everyone else did this i know we can just a little more ways to go! WE CAN DO IT!!! Lets are pray more for each other everday. Soon we will see our names and beside it visa in hand also. Our day is coming!

This isn't for me but I just wanted to give all you Egypt peeps some hope. I have a very good friend whose husband is from Egypt. They are both relatively young (early 30's) and have been talking/together for 5 years) They were married in the US (he was here on a J1) and then he went back to Egypt last summer to finish his degree. They filed for a K3 then. He went for his interview today and said that it was really simple, and they approved him on the spot! He had to go to some counter inside the consul to pay for his shipping for his passport which they kept and said they would be sending to him within 2 weeks. Is this strange? I've only heard all your horror stories out of Cairo. Any insight?

It sounds like a very typical Cairo interview (with the nicer COs). My husband was approved and paid for his passport to be sent back but we ended up with 4 mos. AP anyways. Cairo is tricky. They will tell you you're approved and it will take 2 weeks, a month, etc. but they rarely keep their word. Hopefully for your friend's sake they will stick to the 2 weeks they promised.

I would think that since he was already here on a J1 that he'd have a much easier time. That's great for your friend but it doesn't give us any hope since none of us (that I know) are in that situation.
