Well I just sent yet ANOTHER email to Cairo. And it wasnt nice There has to be away to find out who to complain about this office. WTF is there problem? Im freeking going nuts. Like im ready to go postal GRRRRRRRRR!

I emailed them the beginning of last week but never got a response. Maybe Monday but I don't know why I bother since I'll get the same ole same ole.

I have given up emailing, I feel like I am annoying them and not in a good way. m trying to limit it to once a month. It really is bad that this is the treatment we get a tax paing citizens! I f there goingg to put our cases on an indefinite hold they should at least write and give a staus update...

Well today I made out letters for congressman Jerry Weller and Senator Obama Barack. To try to get some help. I even emailed Oprah and told her about all the people on this sight waiting for there SO. Hopeing she would do a show on imagration. I told her that OUR voices need to be heard. Maybe so of you can also email her. Maybe some one will listen. Or maybe im just pulling strings out of my a$$ cus i dont know what else to do.

Well let us know if we're on Oprah 'cause then I have to find that turkey spam for the dutch diet! Camera adds on ten pounds ya know!

Uh Oh! I'm gonna be on Oprah! Wow! Kewl! Maybe she'll do a reuniting show and bring all our Husbands to us by surprise!

I think Oprah's a great idea. Wonder if anyone's ever contacted her to see if she aired the length of time it takes and problems at the embassies. I'd be willing to be on the show.

Good so all VJ start emailing her and maybe she will do a show about this. It is worth a try. ANYTHING is worth a try.

What's up with that? Does that mean that they picked it up again and haven't delivered it yet? Maybe they are waiting on Eid to finish? Anybody have any ideas...?? I know for a fact that the same tracking number gets used repeatedly, but I worry that I am getting this response because his tracking number is too old. The last activity using this number was in June.

Doodle, can you check your tracking number again? I wonder if they are moving the cases in batches like last time... Could any of you check your DHL number and see if there have been any changes?

the same thing is happening here , the tracking shows ( shipment picked up ) .
when i talked to the DHL customer service they told me that it's the automaticaly update for their system .. they do it monthly for any unused waybills .

_if the embassy wanted to send the case to the third party investigator office so i guess they would never even think of using a waybill which they know that we can track .

_the embassy has sent me the RFE twice last month and for both times they used a new waybill and still keep my first waybill unused .

_i believe the waybill that we pay for at the interview is only for the return of the passport ( on my waybill it says Return Passport )

perhaps their email boxes are full and it's still Eid here so try to email them tomorrow

I emailed the embassy and the email wasn't returned.

About the DHL.... I was thinking that they would only use that waybill number to send his passport back to him, but Tamara's waybill number was used to send her the request for Movement Certificate.

Wael, my first thought was that the waybill # was no good anymore. Because the last activity was in June, I thought the website might not be able to pull records past a certain time. Do you remember the date of the last movement on your package?

1) my dhl says it was picked up on 7/22/07 still....the first day we went for the interview together. No other activity.

2) I just emailed the embassy and it was not returned so maybe it was a short server problem.

According to their website yesterday was a day off but today wasn't so that tells ya how often they check their email considering it's 4pm over there and the mailbox is full. Prolly haven't even looked at any of it today.

I think there are some extreme situations that she might be able to turn into a show or an article in her magazine. Dipsticks is one that comes to mind, but I know there are several others!!

and I dont know if she is gona have a show. I emailed her about my story. But I think I'm the only one. I wish every one would so maybe they will do a show. And our storys can be told.

I was also checking out the Tyra Banks show and there's a section where you can put show ideas. Problem with me is that in the form i have to fill in my address, and they don't have Puerto Rico in the "choose state or province" area , so i'll probably have to cancel that idea for me. But still i can probably at least try to ask for a show about immigration on the "contact us" part. hmmm we'll see what happens

I tried it anyway without submitting my address, and it was accepted so yay! I guess it's not required to put the address. I don't know if writing there will work or help, but it certainly can't hurt.

This is a link to tell all about your amazing love story on Opra. A love story about overcoming obstacles and a love against all odds. I feel that some of our members have that and Opra is looking for stories to be on a show soon.... Maby that might also be a good way to get our story heard a little. I feel that imigration, 2 governments keeping you apart, the seperation, and the dedication and commitment it takes to get your loved one over here is definantly a great love story worth telling.

I'd be very, VERY wary of going on any show or news program where you didn't have complete creative control over what is said. You think your stories are great and of true love, and they are. But they might not look like that. And if you thought an unsympathetic blogger was no fun, it's a lot worse if your exposure to America is you, sitting there, and Oprah leaning in and asking how you're so sure you're in love when you've only met in person once, when his English skills are weak, and as her staff has researched, so many of these marriages (and you can bet she'll have percentages) end in fraud or abuse for the American spouse.

And then a nice counterpoint from a security type who explains how often they find in their searches that the guy has a wife, or has been playing the field looking for an American, any American. You know, for balance.

I am not sure this would end with America welcoming your story and your love but with a lot of people wondering why we don't make the visa process even tighter. You might be better off starting your own public blog, where it's your voice.

I wholeheartedly agree.
No one should forget that we are living in a post 9/11 world and honestly I am not sure how much public sympathy there is for young Arab Muslim men trying to get into this country. Not that I think everyone is prejudiced or racist but its definitely out there. How many people on this board had problems getting their own families to accept and embrace these relationships? and you think a wide television audience of strangers is going to rally around in support and sympathy?
I agree if it worked that way it would be fantastic but thats a big IF and the potential for it to backfire is HUGE.

the status won't change untill the embassy uses the waybill to return the passport .
the same waybill is to be used once ( forward and return ) OR ( just return the passport ) because it's kind of double paid waybill .. but it can't be used more than once .

Now when I check dhl it doesn't have the date that the shipment was picked up anymore.

I have an appt to meet with my congressman's office on Friday. I didn't know they actually meet with you in person! Granted I'm not meeting with him, but at least it's a start.

Thing is.........I briefly described our situation and when I said he's from Cairo, Egypt she said, "oh yes you will be in Administrative Processing for at LEAST 8 or 9 months".



Nothing like starting the conversation off with a lil optimism, eh?
