I can't figure out how to track it. I go on to this site http://www.dhlegypt.com/publish/eg/en/eshi.../sref.high.html but then I'm clue less 'cause I don't have an account number just the tracking number. Did you need an account number too?

only the bold ones are madatory

Is it ten digits?

Maybe mine is still sitting on a desk somewhere. sad.gif

When I put the tracking number in I get:

Shipper's Reference track results.

Sorry, there were no results for the Shipper Reference you entered.

I used the number under the bar code and it had 10 digits to it. My husband dictated it to me. Should there be any letters or more digits?

helpsmilie.gif

This is the link I used:
http://www.dhlegypt.com/publish/eg/en/eshi...track.high.html

The number is 10 digits long and possibly starts with 9800???
We have several tracking numbers from things we have sent or received from the embassy and they all start with 9800.

Doodle, I think you were typing the number in the reference # section.
Use the link above if you can.

Hope that helps.

yeah that's the one. nada. collecting dust i imagine. maybe they only send it out once/month since who the fk cares over there that people's lives, feelings, marriages, families are involved.

im sorry I cant help more my fiance did it and he just showed me the page

Did you make sure that you put it in the right search section? Cause based on your results, it says "the reference number" you used didn't give any results.

Did you try the same number in the WAYBILL tracking section?

I hope they don't send out those files just once per month. It seems like Cairo has a large caseload and that would be a bummer!

I edited my post. It worked your way.

So maybe my once/month theory is correct.

I'll keep checking on that once/week and let you guys know what it says. I don't mind this kind of checking since there's no human being on the other end of the phone that will make me want to scream. whistling.gif

Well, I called DOS for the FIRST time today!

Thank you , thank you. I know it is a big acheivement.

Anyway, she told me that his case will not leave Cairo. (I think that's because we did DCF.) His checks will be done from Egypt and it is being processed now and after the processing is finished, the next step is that they will contact him directly.

I talked to Erica. She was nice.

I think you are right. More than one person's package was sent to an office in Cairo on the 24th. They probably do it in batches.

Also, I know you will keep checking because your package doesn't have any movement on it yet. But, Doodle, do you think that if our package gets sent back to the embassy that they will use the same Waybill # again?

The reason I ask is because the 48 LE that is paid the day of the interview is enough to send 2 packages (normal delivery within Cairo is about 23 LE). They could use his 48 LE to send it twice (back and forth) , but would they be able to use the same waybill #????

Anybody?

That makes total sense but would it have the same tracking number I wonder. unsure.gif

It's weird 'cause they explain it as saying that the money is to send the passport which puzzled me since they never even kept his passport.

All this is actually promising to me since it means that instead of using DOS they are just staying in Cairo. It is weird that Dee's husband's case went right to DOS and back within a month and never had that delay in Cairo for checks though. I mean her situation is basically a mirror image of mine in terms of the whole situation so I dunno how they choose to do somethings one way and others another way.

Hi,

Could you tell me the name of this movie? My husband was happy to see an arabic movie since he hasnt seen one in over 2.5 yrs. I really wish I could find some arabic movies here in the US for him to watch. If you know where I can purchase any or watch online please let me know. It could be a Xmas gift for my hubby. Thanks
monnik
The name of that movie is Ayozono (sp)

In Arabic, it is spelled ايظن

Well mine is still in Cairo too. My sister in law said that two men came to her door but she wouldn't open it for them. lol. She doesn't open the door when she's alone during the day if it's someone she doesn't know or is not expecting. I don't blame her but if it was the embassy then this will never get done since she'll never open the door!!! UGH. lol

Hi Doodlebug, Yes our case did go to DOS on May 6th and was finished on June 12th and sent back to Cairo. Then my husband received a home visit on August 7th (I believe) and didn't hear anything until he received the call from DHL saying he has a pkt to pick up. Thanks Wael your a great help smile.gif good.gif

Well in trying to make sense of all this AP craziness it seems that the worst fate is for your case to be stuck in Cairo beacause it will still have to be sent to DOS just months later crying.gif My God I don't think this will ever end. Who all has thier case stuck in Cairo having never been sent to DOS.
I know me, doodle and aj1 are all in this boat.....

has anyone else had a delay before there case was sent to DOS?

I need strength, its almost our 4 month ap mark without an end in sight sad.gif I would be so happy if our case were just getting name checks!

I know what you mean wateriswide. sad.gif

I said I was not going to email the consular anymore but I just broke down and wrote another one. It's been two weeks since I got my last response from them so I guess I was more patient than usual.

I asked them if when they stated that Usama will be contacted with a date and time for his appointment, they mean that he'll be getting a second interview and if so, why? I also told them that I know of several cases that had their file sent to DOS immediately following the interview and I wondered why that is not happening in our case. Then I closed it by apologizing for being a pest and told them that we are anxiously waiting for when he can come here since we want to start having children right away.

I'm sure they'll respond by saying:

"Dear Sir,

Your case is still pending Administrative Processing. We will contact you when it is complete"

2 weeks ago when Jeanne contacted the DOS .. the lady there told her that some cass are not to be sent to the DOS as all the security checks would be done in Cairo .
and here is 2 simple questions ...
Q- could the security names checks be done in Cairo ?
A- methink YES , why not , the whole thing is only about one button click .
Q- do they really do it in Cairo ?
A- only GOD knows what they are doing or thinking or hiding for us .

one last funny comment ...
as we have heard before that they have a limited amount of visas to be issued every month .. so maybe tomorrow someone will come to hit us with this shocking news and tell us that ( Cairo embassy has a limited amount of cases to send to the DOS every month )

this whole process does make no sense at all

I think the consulate requests the name clearance, security clearance (what you what to call that part of AP/AR) directly with Washington DC - so the case never leaves?

Together for ever

Well the good news is this time it only took one business day for them to answer my email.

The bad news is that her is the response to my very personal request:

"Dear Madam:

Thank you for your e-mail message.

The case is pending administrative processing. We will contact you once

that has been completed.

Interesting article, though it's not dated at all.

They definitely did improve the wait time for the interview since he has been in power but that's about it as far as I can tell. Anyone know this dude's email address? devil.gif

Well the good news is this time it only took one business day for them to answer my email.

The bad news is that her is the response to my very personal request:

"Dear Madam:

Thank you for your e-mail message.

The case is pending administrative processing. We will contact you once

that has been completed.

Regards,

Consular staff

please read the article one more time and correct me if i missed something ...
( every case is different ) isn't that what we are hearing since we have started this whole process ?
( 7 visas issued for each 10 applicants for NON Immigrant Visa ) if you look at the list here you will see it's 8:16 as they are Immigrants .
so methink there is no need for the email !!!
