You will love Turkey. Have you every been before? What part of Turkey are you going to? Will this just be for a holiday? Take lots of pictures. Document everything.
Enjoy your trip.

Thanks for responding. Actually this will be a vacation for us together before he enters the US on his K-1. We just wanted to do something nice abroad before we had to wait on his advance parole. We are going to Istanbul, but I would like to see Ephesus and I wanted to know if Ephesus is doable as a day trip from Istanbul, or should we plan on staying the night?

I would definitely stay overnight in Ephesus- there's a lot to do and see. I think it's best to find a minitour from Istanbul. They arrange a comfortable bus, lodging etc.. and explain what you are seeing. When are you going? How long are you staying? Lonely Planet makes a good guide for all of Turkey.
I can't wait to go- I leave this Tuesday and return 20 August.
Have a great trip!

Thanks Phila, We're looking at the last week in June and probably for six nights, but I want him to experience his first 4th of July, so that cramps our plans just a little. Thanks for the suggestions, I am a big fan of Frommer's,but I will check out Lonely Planet as you suggested.

JODO,
No offense but, I wouldnt keep my vacation that short just because of 4th of July.. You and your fiance will have plenty of time to experience many 4th of Julys together in US, try to extend your vacation in Turkey... Maybe like 10 days or 2 weeks..
Plus, if he has never been in US before, I am sure everything will be very new for him, everything will surprise him, so 4th of July may not be a big of deal at first.. Again if it is his first time in USA, it will be more fun to experience 4th of July with him after he gets used to culture and daily life here..
Thats just my thoughts though.. Everybody is different..
Enjoy your trip in Turkey..
Kaan
PS. I dont want to sound too critical, but I prefer Lonely Planets like Phila too:)
