Can you help me guys where can i get cheaper tickets from philippines going to Michigan USA??Any advice...thanks

Dan + Gemvita
Dont buy tickets on short notice in the peak travel season tongue.gif

If you want the best prices, look for tickets after the summer season, and buy tickets ahead of time. Depending on an airlines pricing/fare rules, you might find a cheaper round trip ticket than a one way. As long as you use the outward ticket, you don't have to use the return. Cant do the reverse though, they ussualy cancel the return when outward is not used.

Also inquire at local travel agents in the Philippines.

Also, depending on airlines, it may be cheaper to buy the international ticket and domestic ticket seperatly. You have more choices, but it does take addtional planning. Otherwise you would be limited to airlines with code sharing agreements. Although sometimes Orbitz will issue tickets for multiple airlines.

I tried all the internet sites like Orbitz and Expedia and didn't find them to be much cheaper than the airlines themselves. As your traveling from the Philippines you might be interested in looking at this site http://www.flychina.com/ . It was recommended to me by someone else. Their prices were half the price of what I found on the other web sites. Better yet, see a travel agent, especially one who specializes in travel to Asia. A Vietnamese friend recommended one who serves the Vietnamese community in my city and he was able to knock another $265 off the the www.flychina.com site for the same flights.

July is definetly peak, if you wait until august even, you can probably save some money. Though sepetember will probably be the cheapest.
James Michelle
Oh really..my fiance thinking about it that he wants me to fly in the US on August but then yesterday he knows that my visa was approved he told me to find cheaper ticket he wants me and my son to fly soo soon.
Dan + Gemvita
Is this cheaper than what you have already found?

From Manilla to LAX (with taxes) with evaair.com:
Adult:USD682.3
Child:USD529.9

You didn't say where in Michigan you were going to fly to, so i assumed Detroit:

Non-stop via NWA will be about $466 per person, but there are other airlines that are cheaper, its just that they will stop at another airport and it will take quite a few hours. Thats via orbitz.

To book that combination, you may need a travel agent, or book them seperatly, just pay attention between arrival and departure times at LAX and make sure you leave yourself enough time for customs and immigration.

With Kayak.com the cheapest one way is $1715 per person. Child fare is probably cheaper.

Thats about the best I can come up with for July 17th.
James Michelle
lol thank you so much Dan+Gemvita...im going to fly to Grand Rapids..but yeah i will tell my fiance about that.

I never buy international tickets on-line. I prefer security - and don't find them cheaper.
I ask a trusted travel agent.

try www.expedia.com (I was using this on my trip from philippines to Florida) a little bit cheaper though. or try www.travelocity.com

Also tickets purchased via a US based travel website for itineraries that begin outside the US will typically be more expensive than using a local resource (such as a travel agent).

The best tickets I have found is through Best Travel store. bt-store.com is the website. I have used them three times myself to fly Cathay Pacific wich is by far the best airline. my tickets round trip have ranged from 1200 to 1500 even my last one over easter was only 1250. Best of luck to you. My baby gets to come home on my flyer miles... what a relief. kicking.gif

I check Expedia, Travelocity, Orbitz, and Hotwire....so far 3 trips and each time booked thru a different site. Christmas time was $1800 round trip, October was $989 r/t, and just this last May was $1011 r/t. I have found that you can get the best rates 8-10 weeks before you intend to fly, but as others have said it appears that flights originating from outside the US are a bit more spendy. I have been researching a flight for my fiance since I found out her interview date and so far the best I can find is around $800 leaving the first week of September for Kansas City.
Since 2 of my flights have gone thru Detroit, a flight originating from there should be cheaper than what I have paid previously
James Michelle
Yeah...lots of cheaper tickets this coming September cause that's the end of the summer, right? But my baby miss me so much he wants me to fly as soon as he can find good deal tickets this next week. And we try Orbitz its said that's not support from Philippines unsure.gif unsure.gif to grand rapids…yay how true? By the way i have my son whos gonna travel with me his 2 years ol and half already.

Have him look in to online ticket consolidators

http://www.usaasiatravel.com/?gclid=CO2ynp...CFQ-4WAodZi9VBQ

http://www.justfares.com/newjustfares/aird...spx?region=ASIA

http://www.consolidatorwebfares.com/

Just some ideas. I didn't check out airfare costs, but consolidators are generally cheaper than online sites like orbitz or kayak etc.
petitebyrd

Try a travel agent who specialized in Asia, There are some fares that's called Consolidator where the travel agent get some really steep discount on a number of tickets. Good luck
