I wonder,

can anyone tell me about the fact that we have to pre pay for them DHL (I think) to send the visa back. I want to explain this to my husband so he will understand what to ask for. When he sends our packet 3, what is he supposed to say in order to do the pre pay thing...sorry I have no experience with that before and I want to be positive.

Also, he should take our original aff of support to the interview correct?..not send in with the packet 3?

Lastly, we won't be scheduled for our interview until packet 3 is sent right?

Thanks for responses.

One more --lol---our lawyer mentioned a DS -K supplement form that supposedly most consulates ask for. Has anyone from Egypt turned this one in or is it not required?

Our instructions said to include the following:

Form DS-156 in duplicate
Original
Form DS-156K (that's the one your lawyer is talking about)
Form DS-157
Passport (I would send in the copy...NOT the passport)
Copy of birth certificate
Copy of marriage certificate
Copy of divorce certificate if he's divorced (if he has two wives he needs to state this)
Copy of death certificate if previous spouse is deceased
Original police certificate
Copy of military certificate
Form OF-134 and proof of income (doesn't say copy so I would take a copy for your records and give the original notarized form)
Photograph
Unopened medical exam report (not sure if we send this in or bring it in person...anyone??)
Receipt from CIB showing payment of the $100
Prepaid DHL envelope that will allow the embassy to send your husband the pkt 4. This is not for the visa, it is for the pkt 4. He will pay the DHL fee for the visa when at the interview.

That's it! Congrats if you get all this done before me...which I'm sure you will since my life sucks lemons!!! goofy.gif

Oh and yes, you won't be scheduled for an interview until you send in your pkt 3. That is what the pkt 4 is...your interview time and date.

Still not sure about the affidavit though, i.e. whether to send in the original. Now you have me wondering. Hopefully someone will chime in here.

Ditto! I agree with Doodlebug! And yes if the interview goes well your husband will pay 48L.E. in advance for DHL to deliver his visa to him once A/P is finished. I wish you all the best on your journey!!

You can do the 156 online by using this link https://evisaforms.state.gov/ds156.asp but note that you cannot save it...you can only print it. I filled out as much as I could for him, i.e. my address, etc., then printed it, scanned it and emailed it back to him. It doesn't have a place for the notary so I"m just telling him to sign it and send it on in.

The 156K here http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/82063.pdf shows that he won't sign it until he gets to the interview but hopefully someone who's been through it will verify that.

The 157 here http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/79964.pdf doesn't even have a signature line so I guess he just fills it out and sends it on in.

So....the only one you can "do online" is the 156 but it's not as online as one would think since you don't submit it online and you can't even save it online.

Hope that helps!
