Hi,
I read posts for length delays in AP/Security Checking and am frigtened about these delays. Is this delay mostly for male spouses or instaed it is Equal Opportunity for female spouses also? What is the that causes additional AP/Security Checking back in US?

A/P checks are conducted mostly by high fraud Embassy which are in the Middle East. What happens is after the interview the case is put on Administrative Processing which the Embassy does a series of different security check which can last anywhere from 1-6 months or longer. Unfortunately men go through a longer wait time i think, but i have seen woman also go through A/P as well. There is nothing that can be done to speed up this process it takes time and lots of patience. Once the security checks are completed and they don't need anything else then the visa is issued. I hope this helps. I wish you all the best on your journey!!

Bonne chance! For some reason I *think* they are much easier on female spouses.

If I understand how the namecheck process works, it's the same level of scrutiny for everyone. It's just that a male partner from the Middle East is likely to generate more false name hits (that then have to be scrutinized individually) than a female partner.
