Hello, we have filed for K-3 and have also filed the I-824 to forward the I-130. We can't find any of the old threads about the wait for the I-824, we are waiting for the K-3, P-4 now and would like to return to China for the CR-1. Any help finding the I-824 would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike & Zhen

As I recall, one has reported the I-824 taking 6 months and another has been pending since last fall. Nobody had reported any new success after having filed an I-824 to get the I-130 moving. It looks like there is really no chance your I-130 can catch up and the delay is completely unpredictable from any data currently available. Unless you postpone your interview, any CR1 Consular processing would have to be much later and require another trip to China. I'm not sure what your priorities are. If you were hoping for the I-130 to catch the K3 and use its interview date, I think you can scratch that.

Thanks for the reply Pushbrk, there were several longer threads here, and several people had their I-130 forwarded, but they already had the K-3, so they stopped pursuing the CR-1. I was told by USCIS on Feb. 28, that if I filed the I-824 for my I-130, that the I-130 would be forwarded immediately, so I did. Then I began to see the threads, so we went to plan "B". We were returning to visit Zhen's family for Chinese New Year in 2008, so we hope to combine the 2 trips. We are still looking for advice about the medical and the vaccinations. We are hoping the medical exam will be good for both interviews, so we are thinking about getting the vaccinations now also, so we will be done. We have seen as many as six different vaccinations listed, are they all required? Do they require any follow-up boosters?, etc. Anything that can help prepare us would be great? We don't want to get blue, because we forgot to get something needed/completed for the CR-1. Thanks again, Mike & Zhen

Plan B might work. In that case, I would just have her get all the CR1 vaccinations when she goes for the medical. I'm not sure just how long the medical is good for. Perhaps somebody else will come by with the answer. You may also want to pose that question in a separate thread.

I am pretty sure the medical is good for one year, and will be on file in GUZ, but I can't get a definite answer about the specific vaccinations, and the follow-up or boosters that might be necessary, a link would be helpful! I can't get the same answer twice. Thanks, Mike

I would email the Consulate in GUZ with the details of your plan and ask them a specific question about the vaccinations needed to complete your plan. You'll probably have a response within a few days.

Then I would follow-up again before you return to China and tell them what you have and expect. Ask them to confirm you have all you need.
