If someone comes in on a K3 visa and still has a CR1 visa pending abroad, are they allowed to file for an EAD without going through the entire adjustment of status process?
YuAndDan
YES yes.gif that is one of the reasons for K-3, to either wait for CR-1 visa, or adjust in the USA, EAD is an interim benifit available to K-3 before AOS, and EAD will expire when I-94 expires, usualy 2 years after a K-3 enters the USA.

Applying for EAD before AOS is recommended for K-3 holders, because of the 2 year EAD, if apply for with or after AOS, then only a 1 year EAD card would be issued.
