Any updates on our ladies going through Cairo this week? I know last week there were a lot of good emails that came through but just following up to see if anything happened with them?

Hmm...

hold up.......some have had the security checks cleared though...or does this mean all have? I'm confused.

These are all the people in AP... Meaning they had and passed their interview.. and Now waiting for Cairo to get off their A$$

No news yet, but we at least have some hope now for an end to this waiting...................................

The fact that Ashkia is still waiting makes me just livid. Her baby is over 3 months old and I don't think ever seen her own daddy???!!!!!???? That's just disgraceful that they would separate a freakin' child from it's father like that.


Ok I'm going back into my happy place called denial.

This is the email we got last week


The case is currently pending the officer’s final review. Once the process is completed, we will issue and forward the visa via DHL. The process usually takes around two weeks.

wow... that DOES sound hopefull.. how long has it been since you got this?

now that, for sure, is NOTHING like the emails I receive......I"m thinkin that has GOT to be good news.....

Has anyone heard from Micky?? I thought i saw somewhere her inquiring about a plane ticket for her husband..

Our interview was 2-1-07...just a few days before Becky's
Here is our recap of the last 5-6 weeks, see if you find it as funny as I do

May 4- Security checks cleared
May 23- Sent his passport to the embassy
May 30- We were told passport was ready for PRINTING and WITHIN THE NEXT WEEK he would have his passport back.
June 6- Embassy called to tell him to send his passport... haha really? how smart
June 11- Today. Was told once again that my fiance's passport is ready for printing and "as soon as it's done we will send it to him"

It's great because it's like a new adventure every week!!! <<sarcasm>>

I talked with Micky. Basically they had filed for a K1. Then he had the interview and they didn't wanna wait so they got married....thus making them start all over and file for a K3 (or CR1...I forget which). I thought she had gotten the visa when she asked about the plane ticket but when I asked she said they just got the NOA2 for the K3 (or CR1?) and were waiting for NVC to send it to Cairo, so they are pretty much farther from it than you are. I wouldn't say that she's been on AR all this time since they started from scratch again.



I find it frustrating to look at the timelines on VJ because half of the ones that already got visas don't even show up. Not sure what's up with the data base.





ugh. Sounds like they're both unorganized AND grossly understaffed. Hopefully they'll hire some new people soon.

Looks like my husband will get here in time for New years. lol

ohhhh I said the same thing, VERY UNORGANIZED, looks like everyone does their one thing and they don't COMMUNICATE with one another...
you know... I honestly think that they can't turn on their printer to print one visa on one passport. I think they have to gather a stack of passports and print them all at once, (to save energy I suppose hehe) so someone might be waiting a month for the next print date whereas someone might wait a day.
Oh well, just my theory...... I wish I had a relative that worked at the embassy to get us all out of this mess faster

That's sounds like a good idea nora I wish that too. New Years, I hope i see my man before Ramadan!! That would be great!! Does anyone know when Ramadan is this year? i think Septemeber but not sure!

Ramadan will be around September 12th or so insha'allah.


I swear, if I ever make it through all this (and I have a loooooooooooong ways to go, lol), and if I ever live in Egypt insha'allah, I think I will try to get a job working at the embassy so I can try to make a difference for all of the people going through there. What a nightmare for all people involved!!

This is the last email i got from them June 7th. I sent them another this morning and will send them one every day till i get a answer
