I just saw your thread. Your timeline looks similiar to me. I received a letter from NVC dated 21 May. I still did not get a copy of NOA2. I see you stated you got yours on SAT. Did you also get the an NVC letter prior to getting your NOA2? If so, I am hoping I get mine this week. This past week I had her send Ds-230 and Ds-2001, passport copy and picture to the consulate. We decided to do this prior to receiving packet 3. I've read that some guys have done this before. I've also read, but don't know if its true, that if they receive it by a cut-off date around the middle of the month, they will assign an interview date for the following month. If not, it will be for the month after. So, we are trying to get one for sometime in JULY rather than August.

Bill you got approved quick, You sent your Appl. 1&half weeks after me and got approved a few days before me. What's up wit dat?

He had to get his senator involved to get the hard copy of his NOA2 (and the USCIS site updated); I'm going to get mine involved this afternoon.

I already have my NVC receipt and after speaking to them (NVC) know that the application is on the way to the Embassy (it was sent on May 29, so hopefully its there already!)

AHH so that's the ticket. Get the senator involved. I'll have to keep that on file for any future problems. "knock on wood"...Lucky live in a small state like Hawaii with a relatively small population. Don't know how quick Cali or N.Y. senators would respond if at all...

I recieved notice of NOA2, relaease from NVC and Packet #3 in the mail all in the same day. It came out of no where. Hoping for a August interview. We still need to get all the info for packet #3. We have been working on this but the info of what we needed was a bit sketchy. I think we have most of it. Alot of it seems to be a repaeat of what we have alreadt submitted.

Why would you call a NY senator? I'd start calling either your senators or congressman if I were you. Or use the RFE trick and talk to someone in cali. I called last week and the paper copy should be coming in this week. Dont know if they'll send it to you if you just sit on it.

I did get in thru the IVR to speak with an immigration officer at USCIS and they will be doing a service request to determine why I did not receive a NOA2 hard copy when our application was approved on May 10....I am debating whether I should involve my Congressman right now, perhaps I should wait and see if they resolve their own issue with the service request.

The Immigration Officer did confirm that we were approved on May 10, 2007

Msu17, Your post above about why "I" would call a N.Y. senator. Come on.. I was refering to a person who lives in N.Y. or Cali. I was saying that "me" being from Hawaii is more likely to get help from my elected officials, than a person from a state with a large population. Honest mistake, I make them ALL the time.

Haha, totally misread that I agree, hopefully a smaller state = more attention from the senator.

Did you call the Embassy?

I plan on calling the Embassy tonight (Tuesday am there) to see if they have our application yet.

got our NVC letter last friday June 8, as per the letter , our application was forwarded to the US Embassy in Manila on June 5

now we are just waiting for the US embassy in Manila to nofity my fiance' and go from there, i am ready with my affidavit of support and other docs, just need it to be notarized and then fedex it to her in Manila

what is all that DS forms, i am not aware u can jump the gun and send docs to the embassy ahead of time, we pretty much just leave it at it and just let time and the US govt take its course with regards to the application, so far so good, no snafu or fubar along the way yet

we are hoping this will be all done in the next 5 months

I just spoke with the agency who helped me prepare the initial forms we submitted with the application and they said interview dates in Manila are on average 90 - 120 days after the date it was sent from the NVC to the embassy....

That seems like a REALLY long time to me, is there that many applications to process?

Don't feel bad, looks like an August interview for Marlon and that's in Jamaica which normally is faster!

This process truly IS a test of ones patience....

I called this: 202 663 1225 then press 1,0,0 to talk to someone. I found it in the UK forum. It took about 10 minutes to get through but the lady asked for my case # and said "good news looks like you have an interview date". The UK embassy costs a lot to call, so I went this route and it was free due to my free long distance on my cell!

I wouldn't trust an agency. It may be a canned response. I hope so for both of us. I am hoping for a late July/early August interview.

I just spoke the the call center for the USE in Manila....

The USE will send out a packet with an interview date, medical appointment date and a listing of ALL fees associated with this phase of the process within 60 days of receipt of the application. How long after that the actual interview takes place is still anybodies guess

The call center for the Embassy in Manila cost $18 US and they allow you 2 calls....I used my first one tonight, I will try to force myself to wait at least one month before I call again

I wasn't aware that Immigration was supposed to be a "Revenue Producing Entity" for the State Department...

What did I offer to do??

Bill sorry for that, thought your post said "contact me". Now that I look back, it says " contact Akaka". my bad. Getting older, must be going blind and a little senile.

Congrats to everyone! My SO is going for her medical exam tomorrow. She's had the xrays and blood tests last week. She will call the consulate tomorrow and arrange the interview! We spoke with them already and they told us they can interview her in one week if she would like!

It seems things are a little different when you get through with the CSC.

We are all getting so close! WOOOHOOO!!!

A month from NoA 2 to interview, must be some kind of record. A little jealous

Wow, thats HIGH!!! Seriously, call the Department of state at that #. Its just the cost of a long distance phone call. They can tell you interview dates etc.

The Embassy did receive our application on June 6....the NEXT countdown begins!

Just called the State Department (1-202-663-1225 option 1,0) and was informed that the packet 4 was sent out today, medical is scheduled for August 6th and the interview is scheduled for August 13!!!

Hi: I see in your timeline signature you met at MSU. I work at Michigan State. Do you attend and/or work here? My fiance is Russian (Prof. of Mathematics). We just sent our I-129F to Nebraska and it was received 5/25. Waiting to see cashed check! Let me know if your in the area

wow you have your interview sked already, congrats!!! we were approved May 3rd but I cant find our case in the appointment online yet.

If you have your case number from the NVC...call the State Dept. The lady I spoke to was very nice and (now here's a change of pace!!!) VERY helpful.

I found that the appointment link appeared to be offline on the Embassy webpage (404 page not found error).

All for the price of a long distance call! ( I used my celphone so it was free )

We had all the paperwork completed well in advance. She had her medical exam today and we have almost everything we need now. She decided to get a new passport tomorrow, and we think she will have it the same day. Her appointment for the interview is on Tuesday, so I hope she is correct about her passport.

I decided to fly down and be with her during the interview. I already have my airline reservations, so pray that her passport will be ready before then!

It sure is nice to see all the progress being made for Feb filers! For me, I know it is not over until it is over but I do have hope we are near the end of this frustrating process.

How early can you call the state department to find out about the interview. We've just mailed back packet 3 and scheduled the medical so I didn't know if they'd have the interview date scheduled or not. Anyone have an idea?
