How early can you call the state department to find out about the interview. We've just mailed back packet 3 and scheduled the medical so I didn't know if they'd have the interview date scheduled or not. Anyone have an idea?
Well... you can call anytime you'd like. I think TimsDaisy has them on speed dial.

I'll have to program them on my phone soon! Doesn't cost to call the DOS line here in the states other than the cost of a long distance call. Hope you hear soon. If you're wondering about timelines, check the link on my signature. It's up-to-date London stats post NOA2.

YES!!!
JULY 19
We never received our packet 3... They sent it 2 times but Suphee never received the mail so they finally emailed it to us and she took a bus to the Embassy the next day - but they would not accept it so she mailed it when via DHL when she returned home. The embassy updated the interview website about a week later and we were on it.

I do not expect to see that packet 4 either... so we will prepare without it.
Best of luck to the rest of the FEB filers!!!

Howzit Bill..
I just saw your thread. Your timeline looks similiar to me. I received a letter from NVC dated 21 May. I still did not get a copy of NOA2. I see you stated you got yours on SAT. Did you also get the an NVC letter prior to getting your NOA2? If so, I am hoping I get mine this week. This past week I had her send Ds-230 and Ds-2001, passport copy and picture to the consulate. We decided to do this prior to receiving packet 3. I've read that some guys have done this before. I've also read, but don't know if its true, that if they receive it by a cut-off date around the middle of the month, they will assign an interview date for the following month. If not, it will be for the month after. So, we are trying to get one for sometime in JULY rather than August.
Aloha
We never got an NOA2.... or a packet 3 for that matter... I got the same letter from the NVC dated May 24 and contacted the EMbassy in Bangkok around MAY 29 and they said that they had already received the packet from the NVC... you might try contacting the embassy now and ask if they have received it yet... the online update (for me) still says my packet is in California...GOOD LUCK!!!

We simply called the consulate at my SO's local embassy and they gave us an interview date. They have actual human beings working there as opposed to those jackasses at CSC.

Just got an e-mail from the consolate. Her interview is scheduled for 24 July. She completed her medical yesterday (13 June). They received ds-230, and ds 2001 etc. before they received the papers from NVC. I was a little worried that we sent those a couple of days too early, but it worked out fine. The consolate e-mailed me saying they received everything and are sending packet 4. She only received packet 3 a day ago. But we sent it out a week ago. I am glad that we sent things back to the consolate early. I was hoping for an interview in July rather than August. Its not over yet, but can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks .

Had our (me and my daughter’s) medical exam last week. Sent the forms on Monday to the Embassy.
Called this morning the Embassy and said that I can schedule the interview any time next week. My first available day was Thursday, so June 21st will be the day of my interview... Unfortunately, my father just died Monday to Tuesday night, so all this is under a great grief and I feel numb and powerless.
Wishing you all good luck with your interviews...

So sorry to hear about your loss... My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during such a difficult time.
I suffered a loss as well when I went to Thailand for traditional wedding, as I was on way to hotel, I listened to my voice mail to discover that my sister had passed away. It was hard to try to enjoy such a great event when you loose someone close to you and you are so far away.

OK! We had a really easy interview and they took her passport. Tomorrow she will go to the embassy and pick up the passport with a new fiancee visa inside! WHOOOHOOOO!
We had so much evidence they didn't ask many questions. They let me stay with my SO the whole time. They asked her about a few of her trips to the US:
Why were you in the US? Who did you visit? Where did you meet your fiance? Then one little trick question, 'you already have a tourist visa, why are you bothering with this other visa?'
Then they asked me about my job, how many children I have, and when we plan on getting married.
It was really easy and fairly informal considering the officer was on the other side of a glass window. We were in a waiting room and on speakers so the whole room was listening.
I guess we answered the questions correctly cause she will have her visa!!!!!!
