Abuchi&Denise
Hello, I am so glad to have found this place.
My name is Denise, I live in Missouri USA.
I met Abuchi (from Lagos Nigeria) on October 19th.
and we have wanted to marry ever since then, but
he gave me my engagement ring in Bombay India
where he is currently working. We were able to be
together from March 15th to April 16th.
Within a week I will be visiting him for 2 more weeks
again in India. When he returns to Nigeria, our
plans are for me to fly there & marry him before the
end of the year, So, I had so many questions and thats
how i found this site, Thank God!

Please tell me all I need to know as I go back to visit him,
I was not a very good tourist in India, I only went to be with
my man and that's exactly what I did, so i didn't get many
pics or even think about what we needed to prepare for visa
we had no idea about the process. so I haven't even filed yet.
Please give all all your "should haves" and "need to do's"
before, I go to him this time...I should be leaving within the
week or by this weekend. and i eagerly seek your direction.
I have no understanding of any of the termonolgy here (K-1 & such)
so I still need to waid thru that.

I feel like we may need to change our plans to marry first,
cause I hear the fiance visa is faster, is it easier too?

Iam so happy to be here!!!!! I want to hear from everyone
and especially, I want to hear from Nigerians & or their mates
& their process thru this journey.
Please introduce yourselves to me!

thanks, God Bless,
Denise

hi denise!, i'm no expert, but i can tell you what i've learned.yes a k-1 is the fastest & easier than the others. the guides here are great. just type k-1 guide in the search area & it will step by step you thru it all.

real quick list of things you'll need: pics of you together (5 or more to be safe)
all date stamps on your passport
receipts & or boarding passes (dates times flt#'s)
hotel receipts
letters of intent to marry (90 days)
I-129F & a G-325A for both of you.
download & print several copies to take w/ you,
so you can get the info right.

really just do the search thing it will tell you all you need to know. good luck! have fun! & welcome to VJ.

Hi Denise, my name is Kathryn. My husband and I just got married in Lagos in May of this year. We're going through the K3 process (spouse visa). The reason we decided to do K3 instead of K1 is because of how fussy the Nigerian embassy can be and from talking to other people about our own situation, it seemed like others in our boat were better off with the K3. Each embassy has it's own quirks and Lagos is definitely one of the quirkiest! lol ..

Listen to Mikeo, it's good advice! Take lots of pictures and try to save all of your instant messages, phone records, emails, snail mail... whatever you can!

Good luck in your visa journey! I'm happy you found this site too it's very helpful in so many ways!

Rings
Awe Welcome to Visa Journey! I do not know much about Nigeria, but I do understand what it is like to be apart from the one you love *hugs*

I wish you all of the luck on your journey!
