I was just curious about this? I met my wife while living outside the states. since we been back to the US both me and my wife have really been missing our time in dubai and are thinking about leaving the US and going back. we met in the UAE which is neither my wifes or my home country, has anyone else here considered leaving the U.S. after there wife came here on a visa either k1 or k3, and considered or did go back overseas to live because they think there life was better there?, i dont mean for any political of financial reasons, just life seemed happier, and more pleasant, and easier for us, then it is now back in the U.S.

I do miss my time in Brazil. My husband and I discussed living there, but decided it'd be better to live.
Now he likes the U.S. a lot (although he didn't want to come at first) and says he does not want to return to live - only to visit.

However, we do talk about buying a house there and spending vacations in his hometown.

PS: I heard Dubai is nice

Until I met my ex I had never been outside the US. I grew up in NC and lived here my whole life. When I moved to Sweden I felt in a way like an outsider like I didnt belong. I changed so much while being there. When I came back to the US I felt like I had been away for so long that I had turned into a swede. So in a sense I felt like I was no longer american. It was the worst and most conflicting feeling. I swore when I left Sweden that I wouldnt miss it but I guess I was wrong because I do miss it. Lots. I wish I had appreciated it while being there. Now I will probably never be able to get back to live there unless 1) I meet another swedish man, and 2) the children need to get a little older.

There are certain things I miss about Germany, but it isn't enough at the moment for me to want to go right back.

I was never homesick for the US either (I kept waiting for it, but it never happened). I only came back for economic reasons.

My husband never really lived in Germany with me, but the second year we were dating, he come over (on business) pretty much every other month, and almost always managed to spend a weekend and a couple of days extra with me.

During this time, we travelled a lot within Europe and yes, we both miss that now. It's so nice that you can be in a totally different culture in no time at all. And flights were so cheap....

we have talked about buying a vacation home in my hometown in Canada.. if we do that won't be for a long time yet .. we need to first buy a home here in the US first

my hubby likes my town and Canada.. he is not very fond of all the rain though

Perhaps when you were living together there, the relationship was new, fresh, flirty, one or the other was on a holiday so things were more relaxed? Now you are living the day to day life and it some how isn't as fun as it used to be?

I can look back on the times we spent together in the UK, and wow they were so much more fun than things are now. I was also on a permanent holiday, had more time to share with my other half and it just seemed easier. Yet now that he is here for good, can't say as any of those things would make either of us want to go back to live for good there because the reality is that it would be the same........our lives have settled down.

Yes. My husband and I met in Paris, and our dream is to return there to live someday. We have to work on saving some money and figuring out the best visas to apply for, etc., so it's a few years off from us. It doesn't stop us from talking about it all the time, though!

I am missing Nepal much more than my husband and son! I never lived there... only visited for 2 week stretches, but I love it, and I am so glad we are going back for our first visit since they came to the US in Oct 05.

We are leaving Saturday for Nepal and I CAN'T WAIT!!!
