I moved to the USA with my british husband 8 months ago. Since i've lived in teh UK for 10 years, I had to have a co-sponser.

My sister's husband is my cosponser.

Last month I found out that my sister has stolen my identity to get loans and credit cards out in my name. And her husband threatened my husbands visa.

We both have good jobs, we're well above poverty. We don't even need a co-sponser now. What would happen if they try to mess up his visa. Can they even do that???

If they say they lied on the forms, wouldn't my sisters husband go to jail?

all this time, I never knew my family were white trash con artists.

Should have stayed in the UK with my mates!!

Cheers,
Jennifer

That looks like jail time for her....it is so sad that your own family to do that to you sad.gif

The I-864 is a binding document so cannot be retracted, you are now past entry into the country and have a green-card so no visa to screw up.

Jennifer,

I don't understand something. Your timeline is for an immigrant visa and shows that your I-130 petition was approved in March 2007. How did your husband move to the USA 8 months ago? On what type of visa? What is his current status in the USA?

If your husband has entered the USA using an immigrant visa, and is now an LPR, then as YuAndDan write the visa has served its' purpose and there is nothing about it that can be 'messed up' - it's history. And your sister's husband is 'on the hook' - after you - to support your husband until 1 of the 6 events that ends his obligation occurs.

It is terrible to hear. Her husband can not do anything with your hubby's green card. I have same questions for you like Yodrak.
