My wife's case is in final stages of NVC processing. I would like to know:
1. Can I accompany her for interview at the consulate?
2. If yes, is that a standrad practice or i have to request it ahead of time.

I will apprecaite, if any one can provide guidance on the subject.

1. no one is allowed inside the consulate except the benificiary. you will have to wait at a cafe next to the consulate or across the street. (since tha latest incident this may not even be possible.)

2. it is standard no one but the one being interviewed is allowed inside the consulate. you can request to be present but your request will either be ignored or denied.

there is a slight chance if you wife mentions first thing that you are waiting outside that the CO may have her go get you if the CO wants to see or talk to you. this does happen but not often.

since the interview can be very short and fast, she needs to mention you are there right away or she may get caught up in the interview and forget (nervousness).

Thanks for your reply. In the past, (and even in a different country that i know of) they would want spouse to be present for CR1 (not K1/K3) case. Did you go for K visa or CR1?

we had both.

April 05-k3 denied and return to USCIS for revocation. k 3 expires and completed I-130 pulled from NVC and sent back to CSC for revocation

Dec 05-revocation overturned and I-130 sent back to Casa requesting they issue a visa.

Jul 06-visa issued

I also had the CR1. I had written in advance and asked if I could attend. They said no. We ended up having a second interview, long story, most here know why. Anyway, I did go to Morocco and attended him to the consulate. I was denied entry, but he made it known I was there.

All in all though, it is a good idea to go, even if you aren't allowed inside. As Chi said, make sure it is known that you are there.

Thanks to your msg to my thread. I plan on going for the interview and be with my wife even if i can't attend.

I used Jame's shortcuts and sent my DS-230 before NVC sent me the letter. I have not yet received the DS-230 instructions from NVC. I attached following forms (based on State Dept's recipocity page) and was wondering if you can confirm that i sent the correct forms. Thanks.

1. DS-230 Part I signed and Part II unnsigned.
2. Original Marriage certificate with translation (notorized).
3. Original Birth Certificate for her and translation (notorized).
4. Police records. both with translations (notorized).
4.1 Original Fiche Anthropometrique
4.2 Original Casier Judiciaire
5. Three (3) Photographs (I did not see anywhere about photos though)
6. Copy of passport (biographic pages).

Quick question. Is the Casier Judiciare necessary even though they have never been involved in court proceedings?

I never received DS-230 instruction package. However, DOS state site lists both documents to be obtained under Police and Penal Recortds. My wife got this one which listed NONE. Atrtached are the two links:
