Seiren
Doing consular filing in Montreal. I'm american and my husband is canadian.

We just mailed of the checklist stating that we have all our documents ready.

Now what? Do we just wait for them to contact us?

Or are they going to mail us info about the medical exam?

The reason I'm asking is because I've read on here about people constantly emailing montreal to get them to tell them their interview date?

Anyone know the way it goes?

the checklist and stuff they ask for is packet 3.

usually after this, you just sit and wait for 3-4 months (and ppl usually take care of the medical and police report during this time themselves) for the us embassy to contact you again with the interview date

Hey Seiren!

More like 5-6 months I'm afraid crying.gif -. The thing to do now Seiren is make sure the Montreal Consulate received your packet 3 back and processed it. Did you fax it? mail it? X-press mailed it? Depending on that, calculate times and give them a call in say, 2-3 weeks. Likely they'll tell you "yes we got your stuff, you're on the waiting list" - which means you get to join us all in the really exciting rollercoaster ride of our lives depending on MTL's efficiency (or lack there of he he). wacko.gif Now, since the passing of the Adam Walsh law things have slowed down a bit because the US citizen has to pass a background check in crimes pertaining to the Act (against children I believe).

Good luck and welcome to the waiting list, Len.
