My husband's interview is now officially five days away. I leave on Friday to join him in Delhi for the interview and to also hopefully bring him home with me within the week. The person at the Embassy said that if, (because I believe in the power of positive thinking and prayer I say--WHEN) he is approved, we may be able to pick up the passport with the visa the same or following day. That would make me SOOO happy.

Hubby and I both have a mixture of sheer terror, anxiety and excitement all bundled into one emotional ball. Based on how things have been going lately at the various Consulates in India, you never know when you will walk away with a 221g or a visa. Everything seems to be a crap shoot even when you have everything in order.

What did you do to stay sane whil you waited (or are waiting) for your SO's interview? I've been cleaning, I've been working like crazy at the office and with my business trying to prepare for yet another journey to India. Mostly though, I've been praying. I keep bouncing between being very strong in my faith and KNOWING that God already has this taken care of for us and that all will be well. Then I have those days where I'm just a walking body of anxiety and I'm questioning everything. So I'm welcoming any creative ways of staying sane for the next five days. I want to be a pillar of calm for my husband on the big day. Good luck and many blessings to everyone on this journey and thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Are you going to change the same post everyday to adjust how many days are left? That's really not necessary.

Good luck!

Sarah,
I really don't think that comment was necessary. However, I will address it this one time. If you notice, my first post was put only in the south Asia forum which doesn't have as many visitors. Today i decided to post it in the K3. I am not the only one who posts the same topic in two different forums. I'm sure you are award of the fact that not everyone visits the same forums. Why you felt the need to make what I feel is a negative tongue in cheek remark I'm not sure but whatever floats your boat. This board is about encouragement and information and that's what I was looking for by posting this in BOTH forums. If it bothers you please don't read it. And btw, i didn't think your comment was necessary either. Good luck on YOUR journey whatever it may be.

I dont have any advice to give but best of luck with the interview!

I was in such a panic making sure we had everything we needed. I was able to get my Interview very quickly after faxing my checklist back and the rush was on. Luckily everything came together (almost last minute)- I was actually able to relax a bit when I got to Vancouver.

I worked on packing everything up to go to the US, last final details of the wedding, and walking down at the beach.
MrsAyilliath
Thanks to everyone who delivered kind words of encouragement to me. I definitely need it. I wish I had a beach near here so that could walk and let the waves lap at my feet for a while but unfortunately I'm kind of landlocked. The hilarious thing is that I am completely packed for the trip already. I'm usually one of those last minute nellies who's up until 3 or 4 in the morning packing the night before a 7 a.m. flight. It's amazing how a little bit of nervous anxiety can light a fire under my butt.

I'm just trying to remind myself to slow down and just breathe. Again thanks everyone for helping me start my day on such a positive note.

Yes, I understand your feelings. Visit friends and families so that you don't think about the interview all the time. In the meantime, check and review all your documents, paperwork that you are supposed to take them for interview. Take all originals plus one set of photocopies. They usually keep the photocopies while return the originals. Good Luck!

Although I was extremely distracted, I spent hours (days, really) organizing everything meticulously....going over and over every detail of my paperwork like I was stricken with OCD.

Oh, and I went shopping for new clothes innocent.gif

I think I speak for most women when I say "You can never have too many shoes!" Shopping is GREAT therapy.

Good Luck! I'm freaking out and we have to wait until 5 July! Unfortunately, it's the end of the school year- and I don't have any time to shop (which I desperately need to do), or worry too much. I fly out the day after I submit final grades for report cards. I'm more worried about gettnig grading done than the interview right now- but insomnia has been a huge problem.

When I arrive on the 20th June, we're going to practice for two weeks, and excercise- hopefully 3-4 hours of walking a day. Then three days at the beach to relax before the interview- and practice more.

UGGH- I am crossing my fingers for you and hope you get that Visa stamp the next day.

Good Luck! good.gif

i would love to be in ur shoes.....cause the whole immigration process is nerve wrecking....but waiting for an approval is worst than the wait before the interview. good luck. everything will be fine. good.gif
