My Filipina wife is having a baby in September. We would like to sponsor her 17 yr old sister to come for a visit on a "Visitor's Visa". We were wondering how long she could stay on a "Visitor's Visa"? We heard 90 days at the most and someone said it could be as long as 6 months. My wife is a permanent resident but not a U. S. Citizen as of yet. Thanks in advance!

B2 Visitors Visa
6 months
The information your sister in law will be on the local Consulate web site.
Is she having a gap year? She should ensure that she takes evidence of her ties to her country, that she can afford the trip, need to return, Unicersity start date etc.

We too would love to have my wife's sister/mother/father visit for a few weeks but we don't hold any hope of getting a tourist visa for a Filipino who isn't wealthy. I find it a shame that honest hard working people from many countries throughout the world find it nearly impossible to visit their families in the US yet we allow a visa for a convicted kidnapper who has additional convictions of theft and fraud. Although Canada denied a visa to Winnie Mandela, she was allowed to visit New York a couple of weeks ago.
