Can you get AP just to visit out of country OR does it have to be for an emergency only?

AP is given for any kind of travel outside the U.S.
If you don't actually have a planned trip outside the U.S., just give an approximate date you plan to travel on your AP application. It isn't important that you actually do travel on those dates.

Yes it can be applied for to travel out of country for reasons other than emergencies.
NOTE After July 30 AP and EAD will be included as part of the FEE for AOS.
