Just make sure the i-134 is done if you haven't already, I think the rest is up to him, police records, etc.

Depending on his age, he might need to fill out the DS-156K as well.

Wait a minute... for Vancouver, the DS-156K and the I-134 are only required for K-1. K-3 checklist does not ask for them.
