Folks,
Is it my imagination thats VSC is really slow in processing all applications starting from early December onwards..They do a have a backlog as the applications that are supposed to be approved in 30-60 days are not approved yet...
What do you think..?

It is not true. I don't agree with it. I have filed for my parents/brother. I filed on I-130s on Oct 28, 2005 and then in Dec (first week) I got a letter - request for additional information -- actually they were not convinced with Birth certificates as a proof that me and my brother are related so I submitted additional affidavits on Dec 22, 2005 those were in their system on Dec 28. Then on Feb 08, 2006 I got an APPROVAL for all three I-130s - Mother/Father/Brother. Now parents case is in the final stage waiting for DS-230 in the mail.
NVC assisgned case numbers to my cases on Feb 14, 2006.
I hope this will ignite some hope -- things are actually happening at VSC -- Be patient !!!!

Slow compared to what? A speeding bullet?!

Compared to CSC and NSC, the VSC can NEVER be called slow!

VSC slow? They used to be as speedy as a jackrabbit, now they are a baby bunny. Its like the turtle (CSC) and the hare (VSC), no matter which way you look at it, the hare will always finish faster, even if it slows down a bit for a carrot.

Vermont can't even be compared to Nebraska or California ... Even if it is slowing down people should feel they are blessed to be going through Vermont ...
Although ours took like 65 days to be approved through Nebraska it really did go by super fast ...

Why do you think there is a so-called "backlog"?
USCIS is conforming pretty well to their recent pledge to adjudicate petitions within 6 months---have you gone over that time frame?

Vermont may be getting backlogged even more soon. If you look on USCIS's website, they are going to be processing more cases (non K-1 and K-3 visas) that are being shifted from other service centers. One can only hope this will speed up some of the other service centers.

Now that would just really break my heart. NOT

Don't mean anyone any bad luck, but fair is fair.

I think that if theyīre processing these extras, itīs īcus they can take them and still be speedy as they are.
