Tricia B
Hi all

haven't posted much on the yardie forum but just wanted you guys to know everything is going fine. quincy has been here going on 3 weeks. So far so good. it's great having someone next to you every night even if he steals all the sheets. He misses JA but is still happy to be here.

he got his SS# so he's currently looking for work

and we found a place where jamaicans play soccer in LA so for anyone who wants to know it's by Dorsey HS (La Brea & Rodeo) on Tues/Thurs around 8:30 pm

if any of your mates are feeling homesick consider subscribing to online jamaican radio stations. I did, so that he could stay up to date on music, news and sports. Irie fm is like $7.95 a month

We get married on June 21!!!!!
Then I have to file AOS papers. The fees would have gone up by then right?

Congratulations TriciaB on your reunion! Best wishes on your wedding date of 21 June as well. The fees don't go up until 30 July 2007, so you'll be able to file for AOS, EAD, AP...one or all of them before the fee increase. You mention he got his SSN. Did he get a stamp at JFK when he arrived in the US? If not...as a K-1 applicant, he can't work!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding; glad to hear that everything is going well.

It's true. Unless your fiance passed through JFK and got a temporary EAD in his passport he cannot work. It doesn't matter if he has his SSN or not.
It sucks I know - but it's the law.
As soon as you get married you apply for the AOS (his residency) and the EAD (his work permit). You can apply for AP (advanced parole) too if you think he'll want to leave the country before he gets his green card.

Good luck and congrats on the upcoming wedding.
