MAKE SURE you bring your appointment letter, girl in front of me hadn't got hers, last I saw like 30 mins later she was still standing at the checkpoint searching for it
Got in the building, the girl there tried to give me a non-immigrant number, luckily I queried it!!
Waited for about 20 mins, then called up to a window, the guy there took my photos, birth certs, police certs, passports, copies of all originals, I-134 and supporting documents, consent form from my son's father.
He then had me go pay the two lots of visa fees, one for me and one for my son.
Fingerprinted me but not my son.
We then waited about an hour, son was EXTREMELY bored, they took his Gameboy outside
Finally called me for the interview.
He fingerprinted me again, and had me raise my right hand and swear that I was telling the truth.
He then had me write my fiance's name and sign the bottom of the DS230s.
He asked me four questions
1.Where did we meet
2.When and where did we first meet in person
3. Had my fiance been to London
4.How did I plan to support myself once I lived in the States
He then said everything was fine and I was approved!!
I said to him, 'Are you SURE you don't want to see all my phone bills, cards, emails?'
He laughed and said he had no doubt that I was genuine
But he said he'd look at the phone bills if I wanted lol....
He then told me to make sure I didn't open the envelope that said 'do not open', and told me if it got lost, we'd have to refile, there's no copy of the contents....
Asked me if I had any questions so I asked him about the consent form for unmarried parents.
He said they applied US law and one would ALWAYS be needed, if the person doing the interview forgot to ask for it, more than likely the Embassy would write to them and ask for it.
He did say that yes, it should be clearer, but it was a DEFINITE requirement!
