So today i called DOS... probably against my better judgement no0pb.gif ... im getting a good strong sense that they dont know what they are talking about... today i get some nice girl that dont know what she is doing laughing.gif and that asks me for my case number and my husbands name... then she tells me that my huband didnt go to his interview in May! ohmy.gif

I flipped out ! I said "OH YES he SURE did go to it !" Then I said, "And he was told by the CO that is he approved and they just have to do the AP for him"... and then she says Oh wait... OH OK yeah Ok well he is in AP and they are doing security checks... SO i say..." are they really doing them ... haha " no0pb.gif

IM TOO CONFUSED WITH DOS!!!

Becky and Sam and myself are having this similar situation but ony DOS is saying that Cairo is conducting the security checks there. The Embassy has not requested for DOS to do any checks. I though all security checks went through DOS but i am seeing in our cases there not. So hopefully it doesn't mean longer wait times at the Embassy. All we can do is pray that the wait will be over soon rose.gif

It's quite normal for them to ask if your SO had his interview or not. It happened to me a few times during our AP. Yes, it does seem sometimes that they have no clue of what they're doing or talking about. Hang in there...it does end eventually. rose.gif

Just a side note...fee increases would affect USCIS processing times not AP/AR or security checks.

I agree with Moody, when I called they didn't have a clue on what's going on...they asked me the same questions. It always depends on who you get. One time I called and she told me there is no news in your case, then I asked her how the security checks were coming along, and she said oh those are done and the results have been sent back to Casa...lol...no news at all!! Sometimes I think they don't even bother looking into your case and just say anything to get you off the phone.
wised up too late
They don't always know the latest either. I've called and the info they gave me was wrong and i knew it because we had seen the proof about what i was asking about. DOS is not always the best source and you need to find someone with an "in" to find things out. It's all "off the record" though. It's one of those cases where it's who you know.
