Well, it looks like my fiance and I will have to make even more changes now to our wedding. Big ones. I was just reading the US embassy webpage in Cairo and saw their announcement that American citizens may no longer legally marry in Egypt. We were planning on having our wedding in March '08.

Our original plan was to marry in her native Sudan but we pushed it to Egypt due to her mother's concern over security. Now it looks like we will have to push it elsewhere. The thing is that we will need to go to Egypt anyway to get her visa to the states.

We did meet in Jordan and I have been thinking that maybe we get married there. The only problem is that I can't find any info about what it takes to marry there.

Does anyone have any advice, info, help!?

I can tell you what documents you need to marry in Jordan. What I don't know is what laws apply if at least one of you is not a citizen. A copy of your passport, any divorce documents, birth certificate, translated into English. I also had my drivers license and social security card as proof of identity.
