It's really Tuesday? I am in a time warp.
A body was found in my town yesterday. For most of the day, everyone worried it was Lisa Stebic who has been missing for a month. But it was not her.
Hope you all had a great weekend, good to see you back in one piece Charles.

well this was busy weekend for me i guess......
Thursday-went shoppin
Friday-went shoppin...shopped some more..for the trip on sunday
Saturday-went shoppin, went to the movies with my sister and then went to dinner
Sunday-Got up bright and early with 20mins of sleep (i have cold and cant sleep with a stuffy nose) and got around to go to Darien Lake....it was great..i dont do a lot of rides so mostly i was the bag carrier, but i love to shop up there and take pictures. Daemian went on his first real big coaster. no upside down ones yet tho. all in all we had a great day, would have been so much better if i didnt have a cold while we was there....then i made it worse cause i went on the grizzly run(water raft ride) and it was a little breezy when the wind was blowing.............so now today i sit and suffer for my dumb actions, butttt the cold may have got worse anyway since i already had it before we left.....anyway lol if you wanna see the pics, go to myspace.
Monday-got up..slept maybe 3hrs that nite....had a bunch of stuff to do around my moms house because we were having a cook out with some family here.....got all that crap done, and sat around and waited until my mom who is habitually late to everything got back, at 3pm...we were starving! and the neighbors who are cousins had already started grilling their food at 11AM sooooooo needless to say we ate by ourselves when my mom finally got home and we got our grill going..ahh well the food was good, well what i could taste of it..i hate being sick! blahhh....
so today here i sit....geo is supposed to be getting some papers from his sponser giving permission for me to come there.....and then he has to give them to a runner who will take em to the foriegn ministry, etc...sooo we are moving, slowly but surely.........
everytime i talk to Geo at nite he is smoking hookah and teasin the heck right outa me, you wait til i get there, im gonna smack him senseless cause he knows ive been out for near a month now!!
alright...this is by far one of my longest posts!!

Wow Jess, long post!!!!! just kidding.
Hope you get back together with Geo soon. I can send you some smokin stuff. Double-apple right? and charcoal? Funny story, we have an enclosed front porch with screens and lately with the weather so nice we sit out there at night for a cigarette. Well, Mohammed fired up the hookah and we were out there chillin and some teenage boys walked by and looked up....there is Mohammed holding the hose and smoking. The look on their face.....priceless.

im off today....wooohooo...after everyone enjoyed their 3 day weekend off, that i had to work every single day of, IM OFF!! im thinking of going bathing suit shopping today, then convincing sofyan to leave work to go to the beach, if that doesnt work, i guess ill go in my pool...maybe i can work up a decent tan on my transparent skin! Jac thats too funny about the hookah, most americans are under the assumption that its something to smoke pot out of....How clueless they are!thats scary about the dead body! i didnt hear anything about it!! where exactly did they find it...well everyone have a great day

Hi everyone...
Jess, we smoked double apple in the hookah last nite too

! I can't remember the brand but it's in arabic/english and we get it at a local int'l store. There's also a hookah cafe in New Orleans that sells really nice blends.
I'm having a funky/uncomfortable cycle and am ready for it to be over!
Sidenote: I'm really stunned at how many women on here have suffered abuse (re: Jean's thread and those who commented that they've been thru it too). I'm sorry for anyone who's been there. Thank God I've never been the victim of physical abuse - I might be in jail now too for killing the mutha!
Best of luck to everyone in whatever your week brings ....

That pisses me off, too, Charles
I know there are sad endings regarding every region in the world but I'd be curious to know just how many MENA cases ended badly. It seems MENA has a lot.

I think what Charles meant was that we all go through the waiting and that he's annoyed that something like this happened to one of us who waited so long and went through so much.

It's my firm belief that every new bride should recieve a cast iron frying pan as a gift and know that it's not just for frying chicken! Now, i'm not promoting violence in the home by any means but i think the first time a woman beating moron comes to after having his clock cleaned, he'll think twice about hitting a woman again. It's up to those of us who have sons to teach them at a very early age to have respect for women and to those who have daughters to accept nothing less than that. If you were to ask my 5 year old how are you supposed to treat a girl, he will tell you without hesitation that you treat girls like princesses.

Not too bad for a Tuesday after a long weekend. The weather is picture perfect and I had two meetings where you sit and do nothing until noon. Even won a nice x-large fleece pullover at the last one so I guess that will be the first piece of winter clothing that goes into hubby's side of the closet!

I love free stuff!!!
I hear ya on the abuse. My sisters both had abusive marriages. One of them lasted 10 years and I cannot tell you what it did to her self esteem. To this day she is so insecure it is incredible. The other one's marriage lasted exactly 1 month before he was put in jail and eventually sent to prison. It's not just the MENA men who do this since both of these men were as waspy as you can get.
I myself have suffered a different type of abuse though it was via a family member. Whenever I hear of any type of this stuff going on my blood boils, I get goosebumps and I just want to lash out at someone or something. It takes a loooooooooooooooooooooong time to overcome things like this. A therapist of mine once told me instead of trying to make the anger go away, invite it in for a cup of tea and get to know it so that you can channel it into different directions. That was the best advice anyone ever gave me since the anger NEVER goes away. I used to channel it to exercise which was cool 'cause I'd feel soooo much better afterwards plus I was doing something healthy for my body.

I just found this statistic, which was shocking to me:
Nearly one-third of American women (31 percent) report being physically or sexually abused by a husband or boyfriend at some point in their lives, according to a 1998 Commonwealth Fund survey.
I have no family or friends who have ever told me that they were abused. Really makes you wonder, huh?

Abuse doesnt have a norm it can be any nationality or even with the roles reversed and the female the abuser. I also have been there done that in marriage......its not easy. Women in past times just accepted it because of the times and many felt there were not able to work, manage alone etc now the NEW woman knows better!!!!!!

I sooooo agree with you. Every see Madea's family reunion? Grit Ball???

Now there is a lesson in how to handle an abusive spouse.

I'm always sad to hear relationships end, and even more so when they end because of this. I hope Jean can be strong enough to make the right choices and not feel guilty.
Yes Charles, it was the combination of you saying it and Noura's hormones that sparked that outburst. I'm sure she'll be find after some caffeine.
We had a wild weekend. Found out on friday that we have have to move 3 households in 60 days. Spent the weekend house hunting. Think we found something that will work for everyone. Noe to sort, clean and sell 50 years worth of stuff at my grandma's and help with 30 years worth at my parents..

Anyone got ativan they can spare?
