Ok I feel dumb, however I have finally read some more information on the Affidavit of Support.
I use the I-134 when applying for the VISA with 100% of poverty guidelines
and I use the I-864 when adjusting status,with 125% of poverty guidelines.

Also, in this guide it says assets maybe used if they are 5 times the amount needed. So if your income is $1000 below what is needed, your assets must equal $5000. It isn't either/or.
This gives me a better feeling since I am still rushing (rushing?) to do taxes and have no idea if I made a dollar or a million...(I'm thinking not a million since I don't see t-bones falling out of the freezer every time I open it).

The assets in lieu of income is an I-864 provision for immigrant visas and adjustment of status. It is 3 times, not 5 times, for sponsoring a spouse.
There is no comparable provision for non-immigrant situations where the I-134 may be used.
