This is very unfortunate.
- Are you saying the Petition was returned because of a wrong address?
- Did your fiancé mail it back, then call?
- Did you/your-fiancé receive a NOA (Notice of Action) I-797 indicating your case is now pending? (I would assume so, since you now have a 'WAC' number.
It sounds like (assuming the above is how it went) that you guys are now March filers - if you update your Time-Line to indicate your NOA1 date, you'll get a pretty good idea of how long it should take until your case is adjudicated (it's not 100% accurate, but usually pretty close). I think the average is 90-100 days from NOA1 to NOA2 (give or take).
Had things gone correctly from the start - you'd likely be at or past the NOA2 stage by now...
