I keep hearing conflicting stories, so I'm wondering if anyone here has had any prior experience, and what the outcome might have been.

I have beauty qualifications from the UK, and want to get insurance to cover me so that I can use my qualifications to work.. Now, some are telling me that I have to take my courses AGAIN (which doesn't make much sense and I'd hate to go through that all over again) and some are saying I should be ok with my UK qualifications without having to requalify in the US..

Has anyone else had similar experience? What was the outcome, and does anyone have any recommendations on who to take the insurance out with?

If you're talking about licenses to do nails or hair, those are normally issued by individual states. You'll have to check with whatever state you plan on living in.

Yes you will need a license. My sister is a hairdresser. I'll try to find out who licenses them in our State. Purely guessing, I'd say it's the Health Department.
