I'm new here to the forums and I am just beginning my visa process for my husband Hassan who lives in Kuwait....I hired an immigration lawyer to make sure all the paper work is filled out and sent to where it needs to go, I'm a little confused as to which visa he is trying to get I don't know for sure if it is the K1 or the K3 visa, all I know is that he sent the paperwork off and I got a NOA on my I129 at the United States Immigration and Naturalization Sevice Center in May 02,2007 and I just received an email from Cris saying that is has been transferred to the California Service Center on May 18th 2007. I started this whole process back in November 2006 right after Hassan and I got married in October 2006 in Kuwait but I didn't know my lawyer was going to leave the firm he was working in and start his own firm with another partner so he didnt send all of our paperwork off until April 2006 and it has already been 7 months that Hassan and I have been apart! crying.gif I know this is a long and hard process for me and everyone on here I just want to say my prayers are with you all and inshallah you will be reunited with your loved one soon. I'm just happy to be here and I'm happy that there is actually a support forum for people who are going through the same long and emotional rollercoaster that everybody else is riding aswell. I hope to hear from you guys and to share some stories together. Take care, Salam

P.S Please don't yell at me if I post things in the wrong forums LOL I have seen some people get pretty nasty at others about that, I'm new here so I'm learning so please bear with me!! biggrin.gif

Welcome to the board. You'll find so much helpful information here. I'm sorry to hear of your delay but make sure you stay on top of things---even when it's being done by an attorney. Good luck.

You might need to double check witch visa you filed for. If your married already, you cannot file for K-1. You would have to file for K-3 or CR-1/IR-1. K-1 and K-3 both use the I-129F form, but with K-3 its filed after you file the I-130 form. Look at the guides if you have any questions.

Melissa ~ As you are married to Hassan I am going to move your topic to the K-3 forum as the K-1 is for fiance(e)s. If it turns out you are applying for another type of visa, let me know and I will move it to the appropriate forum.

Good luck on your journey and welcome to VJ! smile.gif

Welcome to VJ! Like others have said, you're gonna file a K-3 or CR-1 since you're already married. We have a Mid East/North Africa forum here if you'd like to check it out. smile.gif Some of us there have big mouths but we don't bite...generally. biggrin.gif

Good luck and best wishes for a speedy visa journey rose.gif

Thanks, I will ask my immigration lawyer again, it seems one day I know exactly what is going on and then with all the stress and other things being thrown at me I forget some things. wacko.gif
