How come I recieved a letter from NVC telling me that I was approved but the website has "case still pending" and I have not received a NOA2 from them. She told me to hold on, after about 30 secs she told me that I was approved may 7 and that there must have been a problem with the system. She said that she will have another one sent out and it should arrive within two weeks. I checked the website after I got off the phone with her and it was updated with this message: Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)
Current Status: Duplicate notice sent.
On May 24, 2007, a duplicate notice on this case was mailed describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) is still pending, you will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. If this case is still pending, we process each kind of case in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. This case is at our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location. Follow the link below for current processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register
What did I learn from this? Customer service people have more power then they lead you to believe. And, if they don't want to take the extra step to help you, they won't.

From what you wrote it sounds like they sent another NOA1 if it is describing how they will process your case. It does not say anything about approval, only pending still.

If it's been sent to NVC (since you got a letter from them) you've got the NOA2 (not pending anymore). You should get the NOA2 in the mail hopefully now.
Good to know about the computer system though.. we got our noa2 in the mail and the nvc letter and the system still says pending for us.

Yeah, it is a generic message basically saying "we sent you a letter before but you did not get it, so we are sending you another one. Hence the "Duplicate notice sent"

I guess this month, USCIS is somewhat being in a Twilight Zone. A lot of cases didn't get the NOA2 and found out that they're already in NVC / consulate stages.
Good luck to you all!
