Should we put YES or NO? Of course my SO intends to work, but then it asks for a location, which of course he doesn't know yet.

We are applying for a K1 visa

Play it safe and put down no. If they ask simply explain to them from your fiance's perspective something along the lines of.

No. I want to marry my fiance first. Once that's settled we're talk about it.

Pretty much saying no but it's still on the table. That's how I'm doing it. Along with school as well.

Put down "yes, with work authorization, employer unknown at this time". That's what I put down in my application and took that from the example forms on VJ. Saying no is more likely to bring up red flags at the consulate.

Put down the truth.

If yes, do as the VJ example form does. No need to play it safe and put no. Also, it will help because they will feel that you wont be a burden on them. Especially if the sponsor barely makes enough to support the beneficiary.

fedekat,

You've answered your question yourself - yes your fiance will work. Where is 'to be determined'.

This question is not significant for the K visas, it is for some other types of non-immigrant visas.

I put no im my 156, actually my stupid lawyer did!

Called and asked before the interview if it shouldent have said yes, since i do intend to work after getting over there.... i mean i will have to look for a job after getting the greencard and all that, but you catch my drift.

At the interview they asked me if i intended to work and i said yes, then i was acused of lying under oath, since it says no im my papers!!

I got lucky though, had the sweetest interviewer in the world, so she corrected it and i got approved.

Good luck :-)

angerman,

Your 'no' answer was a misrepresentation, but it was not a material misrepresentation - either answer is OK for a K visa, neither answer would disqualify you for the visa. And, you corrected the misrepresentation when questioned about it.

It would have been most improper to have refused your visa application over this issue.
