Aloha kakou,
We got our NOA1 on 2-17, got a touch on 5-4 - then nothing. I called CSC and they give me the October processing song and dance. I called NVC and they never heard of me. I see people who filed both around our time - and now more frequently - after us - getting approved. Some of those people are already out the door of NVC.
I wouldn't say I am panicking, but at times it seems pretty damn close. The feeling of helplessness is overpowering at times. I used to love reading these forums. Sometimes I would get tears (of happiness) in my eyes reading of people's joyful progress. Now I rarely read them because I feel we're getting left behind.
I know nobody here can do anything other than listen and commiserate with me. I can't really talk to my friends about this coz they have no clue in hell what a miserable process this is. So I guess all I can say is mahalo for listening and here's hopes that we all get thru our respective VJs with minimal bumps and bruises.

Hang in there! I'm sure it will come anytime. Keep in mind too that others didn't get the approval notice online but through snail mail...
Good luck!

Oh. I think you got unlucky for getting that guy to answer your call. You might want to try to call again and who knows you'd get a different operator. A nice one who would kindly reveal your approval. Best wishes for your journey.

I'm sure your approval will come soon. I've noticed a few timelines on here where people's cases get touched, 3 weeks later they have heard nothing, then suddenly they are approved. It also seems pretty common for the email notification to not show up, but instead get a nice surprise in your mailbox at home.
Keep your chin up, an approval is coming your way!

We'll add you to our prayers. It's tough having to wait, believe me I know. I will have to say this about the wait though. It surely gives you time to really get to know your SO. You can't go on normal dates. You can't veg in front of the tv. You can't just sit in quiet complacency. When you can talk, you have to talk. Either on the phone or through chat, talking is all you have. I think it makes the start of your relationship stronger because I sure have talked to my girl sooo much more than I have with any other relationship I've had.
It'll come soon I'm sure. I wouldn't put a lot of faith in what the USCIS web site shows because so many people here have said the info on the site didn't change and they received their NOA2 in the mail.
Good luck and keep your thoughts positive!

I feel you on the waiting.. We got a touch on Jan 13th, then again on May 15th...and ...nothing. I see alot of the other January filers getting approved and I am obsessing like did someone spill their mocha latte on it and trash it? Did it slip behind a desk??? Im just so grateful to have vj and other people who understand these fears. I'll keep you in my prayers and you can keep us in yours!!! Good Luck!

While reading your post I felt exactly like you. I was going crazy seeing everyone else get their NOA2 while I was still waiting. I had been touched on May 1st and 2nd, I called using the RFE "trick" but still had no news whatsoever. I stopped reading the forums and became a very nasty person to those people who are around me.
BUT then I got a letter in the mail a few days ago from the NVC saying they had received my APPROVED petition. If you got touched a few weeks ago my guess is that you're approved its just that the USCIS is so behind they're not sending email or letter approval notices.
So is that feeling in your gut justified? Yes it is justified. But do whatever you can do to not go crazy because you're most likely approved.

That's the one thing I really don't like. I am usually a pretty mellow easy-going guy. But lately I have lost patience with everything and everyone around me. I've turned into a real SOB. I don't even like being around me.
I'll call USCIS again shortly and see if I get farther. I am hoping internally they have access to more timely information that we on the outside do. But I am not getting my hopes up. I have lost faith in the system.
Mahalo for the kind words and support. They are appreciated. It's nice to know I have somewhere to go where people understand.

Relax, I'm sure the petition is soon to be approved or is already in the pile to be sent to the NVC. I've heard that lots of people haven't been getting their NOA2s due to some system glitches on the USCIS's side. And besides that, you aren't that far behind, if behind at all. My petition just reached the NVC last week and I had an NOA1 date a good 3 weeks before yours. That being said, I (and probably most people here) have felt the same worry and panick at at least one point in the process. But it's no time to panick yet.
