So i got a call at 2am this morning from my husband. That's 11am Spanish time. Since his interview was at 10:30 I was nervous that he was already done. He was already on the bus back home, with his visa approved!!! He was there less than 5 minutes. Well we think it's approved...the consulate didn't speak Spanish...

Interview question: "are you married to an American?" Reply: yes. Response: "ok your visa has been approved, it should arrive in 10 days." WAIT WHAT?!?! THAT'S IT? My husband even asked...it's approved???? and the consulate confirmed yes!!

The only problem (if you would call it one) was that even though the embassy accepted the pictures we had taken for the visa (passport sized) when I turned in the I-130, they now said they were too small for the visa. So he just snapped some more in the booth inside the embassy and was done. This embassy did not ask for one scrap of evidence about a bona fide relationship, even though my husband brought 2 photo albums, 30 postcards and God only knows what else.

Spain may make it impossible to get married, but once you get there....easy!!! Exactly 5 weeks from filing I-130 to approved visa.

So i have a question....I assume the mysterious brown envelope will arrive with his passport and visa inside. Am he is not supposed to open the envelope. How is he supposed to leave the country if he can't have his passport from inside the envelope? Will the check-in desk let him get on the plane without his passport, or are they allowed to open the envelope?

Anyways, this visajourney family has been so awesome!!! Through all the drama and wondering of the Adam Walsh law changes, up until now....THANKS SO MUCH and best of luck to each of you! One day we'll all be living in the US together!
